Notes - the FBI Vault and Brothers 16 / 300 reused words for Brothers 16 / untitled memory

Mid-morning. You had a leisurely breakfast while reading the Easter Sunday Cincinnati Enquirer. While reading the article the sticks with you is on "the Vault and a UFO in New Mexico in 1950. The reason for the article is that it is the most popular read in the Vault. Let's take a look. - Amorella

FBI UFO: FBI Addresses 1950 UFO Memo From Its Online Vault

By Tom Barrabi | March 27 2013 2:35 PM

The FBI has finally addressed a memo from its digital archive that many conspiracy theorists have taken as proof of the existence of UFOs.

Originally published on March 22, 1950, the one-page memo was sent by Guy Hottel, the head of the FBI’s District of Columbia field office, to legendary FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover. The memo contained information that Hottel had received from an informant about a possible UFO discovery.

"An investigator for the Air Force stated that three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico," Hottel wrote:

"They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall, dressed in metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed fliers and test pilots.”

Hotel added that his agents had yet to pursue the matter any further.

The intriguing digital file was initially released to the public in April 2011, as part of the Freedom of Information Act. According to Yahoo! News, the FBI reports that the file has been viewed nearly a million times. The agency blames this massive audience on the fact that media outlets "erroneously reported that the FBI had posted proof of a UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico, [in 1947] and the recovery of wreckage and alien corpses."

"The Hottel memo does not prove the existence of UFOs,” the FBI said in a Monday blog post. "It is simply a second- or third-hand claim that we never investigated."
The bureau also points out that the Hottel memo was written several years after the notorious Roswell incident, which occurred in July 1947.

“The FBI has only occasionally been involved in investigating reports of UFOs and extraterrestrials,” the blog post continued. “For a few years after the Roswell incident, Director Hoover did order his agents—the request of the Air Force—verify any UFO sightings. That practice ended in July 1950, four months after the Hottel memo, suggesting that our Washington Field Office didn't think enough of that flying saucer story to look into it.”

A single-page March 22, 1950 memo by Guy Hottel, special agent in charge of the Washington Field Office, regarding UFOs is the most viewed document in the FBI Vault, our online repository of public records.

UFOs or No?
The Guy Hottel Memo
03/25/13

It’s the most popular file in the FBI Vault —our high-tech electronic reading room housing various Bureau records released under the Freedom of Information Act. Over the past two years, this file has been viewed nearly a million times. Yet, it is only a single page, relaying an unconfirmed report that the FBI never even followed up on.

The file in question is a memo dated March 22, 1950—63 years ago last week. It was authored by Guy Hottel, then head of our field office in Washington, D.C. (see sidebar below for a brief biography). Like all memos to FBI Headquarters at that time, it was addressed to Director J. Edgar Hoover and recorded and indexed in FBI records.

The subject of the memo was anything but ordinary. It related a story told to one of our agents by a third party who said an Air Force investigator had reported that three “flying saucers” were recovered in New Mexico. The memo provided the following detail:

* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
They [the saucers] were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only three feet tall, dressed in metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed fliers and test pilots.”
* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*

After relaying an informant’s claim that the saucers had been found because the government’s “high-powered radar” in the area had interfered with “the controlling mechanism of the saucers,” the memo ends simply by saying that “[n]o further evaluation was attempted” concerning the matter by the FBI agent.

That might have been the end of this particular story, just another informational dead end in the FBI files. But when we launched the Vault in April 2011, some media outlets noticed the Hottel memo and erroneously reported that the FBI had posted proof of a UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico and the recovery of wreckage and alien corpses. The resulting stories went viral, and traffic to the new Vault soared.

So what’s the real story? A few facts to keep in mind:

First, the Hottel memo isn’t new. It was first released publicly in the late 1970s and had been posted on the FBI website for several years prior to the launch of the Vault.
Second, the Hottel memo is dated nearly three years after the infamous events in Roswell in July 1947. There is no reason to believe the two are connected. The FBI file on Roswell (another popular page) is posted elsewhere on the Vault.

Third, as noted in an earlier story, the FBI has only occasionally been involved in investigating reports of UFOs and extraterrestrials. For a few years after the Roswell incident, Director Hoover did order his agents—at the request of the Air Force—to verify any UFO sightings. That practice ended in July 1950, four months after the Hottel memo, suggesting that our Washington Field Office didn’t think enough of that flying saucer story to look into it.

Finally, the Hottel memo does not prove the existence of UFOs; it is simply a second- or third-hand claim that we never investigated. Some people believe the memo repeats a hoax that was circulating at that time, but the Bureau’s files have no information to verify that theory.

Sorry, no smoking gun on UFOs. The mystery remains…

You assume this is a hoax, that is the original story, that lead to the Guy Hottel memo is a hoax, because it reads very similar to other earlier reports of alien description in the Roswell event of July 1947. I mention this because the Merlyn books reinforce the fiction, the hoax if you will, within the first Merlyn trilogy. The allusion to more than two species of similar higher consciousness does not exclude the probability of others, be they "of human shape but only three feet tall." - Amorella

1023 hours. This doesn't make any difference to me because fiction is fiction; however, it was an early adolescent wish that those aliens were real. Wishful thinking, and it was probably to relieve the boredom of being a teen-ager.

You and Doug used to drive out into the country north of Westerville in rural Delaware County looking to spot a UFO or two, did you not? - Amorella

We did; more than once. We, as 16 and 17 year olds, had our talks on the subject and a variety of others along the way. I don't believe the two of us ever did spot a UFO though.

You needed reminding of that today, that's my only point. - Amorella

         1031 hours. Why?

Why, because this is always a good day for remembering such things, boy. Why not? It is always a good day to expand your thinking, your imagination and your sense of consciousness. - Amorella

Does this have anything to do with Brothers 16?

What do you think? Would this be unlikely? - Amorella

I'm going to post and give this consideration.

         Post. - Amorella

Early afternoon. You plugged in a few more books on FB. Your face brightened upon seeing those old titles. Some you were not sure whether you read or read several reviews of so those you did not include. This is a better attitude. - Amorella

1353 hours. We are at McD's. Carol has her decafe coffee and is reading page 30 of Stay Close. I have my diet Coke and had a quarter-pounder. Carol is waiting until we get home to make a sandwich and hopefully the small turkey breast she has for supper will be thawed. I am feeling better about cleaning up my old stacked paperbacks at the front of my basement desk. Carol wants me to save a few she might want to read; otherwise some of them are forty to fifty year old favorites. I can get them online if I need to read something from them.

You are returning home when Carol finished her chapter so why not set up Brothers 16. - Amorella

I don't find anything useful in the Braided Dreams, Brothers 16. We used all that was relevant in Brothers 15 as far as I can see.

I'll find something then you can erase the rest. - Amorella

You found 354 words but they relate to G---D's Promise to Abraham. and Sarah. I feel uneasy using this. I really couldn't think of any other real hope for humankind other than a kindly visit from aliens who are from an older and more civilized human-like society than Earth's. (1438)

You have been home a little while. I'll do a little braiding so you will be more comfortable with the concept.

I think there is less obligation with aliens than there is with G---D's intervention via "God's Promise"(even in a fiction). I hadn't thought that part through. Besides, then the work begins to look like it has a religious (religious doctrine and politics) center (end of one world and the beginning of another) and I would rather have this on a human spiritual level.

You don't think human beings are capable of 'cleaning up by themselves'? - Amorella

1447 hours. No, I don't. Like some people say, 'It would take a miracle,' and I don't want any miracle story presented in these books.

Kim called and you have been chatting for about a half hour. Go ahead and post. Later, dude. - Amorella

1755 hours. I feel better about the books. I have read not nearly so many as I remember, but I have those from the basement now in FB and a few others that came to mind. I'm sure there will be others from time to time, I know there are, I just can't remember the titles. I have sent many to Half Price Books and others I have given to others for reading and some I have just given away to a reader who was interested. Two books Doug and Nancy sent me. One I read and sent back and the other I have (it was a birthday present last year) and I'm sure it's in Carol's collection. One was about Einstein and modern physics and the other on modern use of creativity. I remember what they were about but not the authors or titles. I like the books very much.

This is from someone who has forgotten his wife and daughter's names as well as his own in public places. - Amorella

Thank you, Amorella, this gives me a better perspective from which to measure memory, and a funnier perspective too. It's as bad as walking into a classroom door in the beginning of class then apologizing to the door. Sad really, but such witnessed events have happened from time to time. (1809)

The sun came out about an hour ago, partly cloudy skies. Enjoy the view. Post. - Amorella

Notes - thoughts / The Dead 16 completed

The sun has risen another day i.e. no clouds. Meanwhile you are tired. You were both awaken around five because of the cats. Carol is washing clothes and you are ready for a nap. - Amorella

You did exercises and then walked to the end of your street and back. You stopped twice for a few seconds then moved on; you did not have to sit down. It is still a pleasant day. You have errands, grocery and pet store. You are beginning to make parts of the house 'cat safe' for while you are gone. No writing so far today, and that is okay, boy. If the writing were to become an obsession we would stop for a while. And, on Facebook today you began your list of books read. Again, so far it is for the pleasure. Asimov is an exception and you are creating a list because you have read quite a few. After this though I suggest book lists is not the way to go. Take the time to remember the books as you go along as you have so far (as these are books that most influenced your life). Then, this will remain the 'fun' you want. - Amorella

That's good, Amorella. I was thinking of how many Asimov books I have read and that is not the way I want to go about it. Thank you. (1309)

I was just looking over Scene 11 that I am modifying. The scene has a sense of Dr. Zach's question and your response yesterday. I had not realized that.

. . .I’ll say each individual is judged equally, but how the person lived is, in part, up to how the person chose to live her-or-his common life under the circumstances she-or-he lived. Souls are all-common in these books. Hearts are distinct as are minds. Recent Dead who have a problem with this. and come Here, will find there is an awakening of higher consciousness. . .

Scene 11 - Ch. 2, The Rebellion

**
What you replied about the possible dialogue between Jesus and Merlyn fits in context with what is said in Scene 11. Consistency, I don't think you have ever gone beyond the books and blog.

You would not wish it so, orndorff, I assure you. - Amorella

No, I would freeze before I could conjure such a senario. It is time for me to move away from this for a while.

         Post. - Amorella

A late lunch at Smashburgers and now you are at Pine Hill Lakes Park facing the west hill. Carol is perusing a new read, Harlan Coben's, Stay Close.

1517 hours. I'm ready to work on Dead 16.

First, let's continue what you are doing, trimming lines and/or paragraphs. - Amorella

You have down most of the draft. You are at Kroger's for one more item. You have less than a hundred words to go so we are prime to complete it and move on. - Amorella

2231 hours. I have completed The Dead 16.

Drop it in and post, boy. - Amorella

Dead 16 ©2013, rho - draft, GMG

Merlyn sat comfortably on the green meadow grass under his favorite Oak in his sanctuary. The Scottish bluebells were in his left in his peripheral vision and the stone stage ruins, north, directly ahead, the white daisies beyond and the white foxglove and red poppy at his right peripheral. This is a very pleasant day in my home of homes, the once great druid thought. The grass is green as is the felt on billiard table in my mind. I am the solid yellow in this thought and I am sitting next to the larger cue ball in the center table. This is a reflection on ancient Elysium and its rules. I still hear the Supervisor in a voice hardly a whisper. HeranHis Being is shout enough. This is what he once said to me, and only a whisper once is what needed be.

"This is the Supervisor. Elysium, the ancient Greek Place of the Dead, works on what is presently known in science. The connection between the Dead and the Living is in the mind’s perception. The Living help cultivate the Dead through their self-learning and through expanding the dimensions of human experience.

Everyone contributes through self-education, what one learns in and from life is taken with the Dead. The human mind, if you will, serves as a serendipitous taxi service. The Dead, of course, are out of time; therefore have a more easily develop theory, which they inversely pass on to the Living. The River Styx is the conduit, for whatever the river is in actuality, it is a Form that carries a current of new ideas and concepts both to the Living from the Dead and from the Dead to the Living.

The Dead understand the air of Elysium is as their genetic Eve Mother’s eyes. She is at the heart of the heartsansoulsanminds of the elected ten thousand. Orders are few and far between, but when deeply heartfelt by Mother commands are intuitively understood. Most children of all ages understand this process, though it is more easily communicated among the Dead.

All Eve’s children recognize a truth when they feel it from the inside out. Feeling is not declaring however, and in here, true translation from one sense to another is not so easily accomplished no matter how heartfelt the feeling may be.

To absolve a few questions between the two social terms, the elite and the proletariat, for instance, I’ll say each individual is judged equally, but how the person lived is, in part, up to how the person chose to live her-or-his common life under the circumstances she-or-he lived. Souls built for humanities protection are similarly constructed. Hearts and minds are also distinct qualities.

The only roost an individual controls is herorhis own. This sharpens the sense of Free Will. The Dead have no fear of other people. Among the Dead, Marsupialese-humanoid or Homo sapiens, exists the nature to grow, to mature within the individual heart and mind and the grandness of the species as a whole. This is a necessity not a rule.

While I, the Supervisor, am observing an individual heartansoulanmind, herorhis soul experiences the fact of being observed. This experience may cause a teeter-totter of heart and mind in the deepest of once unconscious levels within the individual who is living only through herorhis heartansoulanmind, or if you will, through herorhis human spirit. This is how it is.

This experience, in a mixed play with Free Will, may result in subtle changes in one's sense of personal contemplation. Free Will, however, is not affected by these possible subtle changes. Contemplation is one thing; human attitudes and behaviors are another.

The general cultural virtues and vices of your species are simplified and separated into various qualities which are noted in an alphabetical order: Abstinence, Avarice, Chastity, Diligence, Envy, Gluttony, Humility, Kindness, Liberality, Lust, Patience, Pride, Sloth and Wrath.

The Marsupial humanoids and the Homo sapiens and other species with like spiritual attributes are not to be toyed with. I wish all naturally gifted species such as yours well, as well you understand.

"I do understand," said Merlyn as if he were speaking to a Presence that may or may not be. I am watched and even read, thought Merlyn. By whom I am not sure. I am not even half an ounce in weight. I could be sucked in and out of a living lung and never know the difference. Being itself is beyond definition. Yet I am, I exist.

Notes - on Magnetic Springs / an opening dialogue

Up with the sun, boy. Carol is on the phone with Mary Lou as the sun roars in the northeast bedroom window. More later. - Amorella

1014 hours. Went down for a leisurely breakfast with the paper and when Carol got off the phone I found Mary Lou is coming down for lunch (she left already) and she and Carol are going shopping at Macy's as they both have coupons. So, I helped straighten up downstairs (I have dusting to do). At least it is also more leisurely because there are no movies to edge us to a timed destination. My MacAir is as my childhood favorite activity of sitting in a dark closet with the light just creeping in like green vines beneath the closed closet door. I enjoy quiet contemplation, any kind of contemplation actually. I have trained myself not to need the dark or the quiet, fingertips to keyboard does just nicely. In the dark the screen is on as low as it will go. There is more than enough light to see the screen. Neither eyes nor fingertips have ears, making the silence naturally reverent. I get along in the world and I also get along in my own. In my full seventy years none of this is really new, it is part of who I am as a human being.

You were thinking earlier on how one of your first creative writing assignments for students was to give them three unrelated words and they had to put them together in a short story of a paragraph or two, this began in the 1966-1967 school year at Magnetic Springs Junior High School. You liked it because in a sense you were the chairman of the English department. You were the English department. See, now that brought a quiet smile. - Amorella

That's what I told myself on the way to work. Magnetic Springs is a little town west of Delaware, Ohio and I lived uptown at ten and a half West College Avenue in the south apartment next to the entrance stairs. I know there were two apartments because later Mary Lou and her husband lived in the one on the northwest corner of State and College. The rent was sixty or sixty-five dollars a month. Mr. Hume (sp) owned the building in which he had his dry goods store.

History
Magnetic Springs earned its name after the discovery of mineral waters used for healing processes. Word spread across the country of these springs, and tourists began visiting from locations nationwide; even foreigners appeared occasionally. Hotel resorts sprang up, and the village boomed. Following the discovery of modern medicinal cures, including the vaccine for polio, the interest in natural healing remedies faded, and the city's tourism industry collapsed. By the early 1980s, the hotel resorts had been torn down.
During the Prohibition era of the 1920's, the village was a local hotbed of bootlegging and gambling, although it faced vigorous opposition from the mayor, Mary McFadden. She also led bond raising campaigns for a public services and a larger town hall, and to encourage full council meetings she cooked dinner for all the members.
The Magnetic Springs Water Company, a spring water company founded by Robert Scheiderer using the local springs, originated in Magnetic Springs. It has since relocated to nearby Columbus.

1101 hours. I looked for the old school on Google Earth. I assume it has been torn down. The school district is still Richwood City Schools, Union County, at least I assume so.

This relates to who you are, boy, and you have not forgotten any of the schools where you taught, even old Olentangy High School where you did your student teaching. No shame in having the memories, again the attachment is with the classroom, the curriculum and the students. You think, "if only I could remember all their names,". - Amorella

You have your earphones but you won't need them if the girls are shopping. You might stop by the Apple Store to see what's new. Take some cold cash along just in case. Relax. Post. - Amorella

I'll take the money, Amorella, but I cannot imagine buying much but perhaps a new plug-in. One's enough I think, but maybe a spare for the trip.

1426 hours. Lunch at Cracker Barrel after which I got the car washed at Mike's Car Wash. We headed in to Kenwood and the girls are shopping at Macy's. I stopped by Apple and glanced around. Nothing worth my money. The Mac Air appears exactly as my own (that's a good thing); I have to say, I do like the iPad Mini. When my present iPad stops that's probably what I'll buy but for now I am fine. No need for the cold cash, Amorella, but I felt better having it. If I were younger I would have probably bought the mini outright, but I don't care so much anymore, particularly with having Paul's old iPhone. Life is good. I have the sunroof open and the windows down; it is very comfortable having a casual sweatshirt on.

My old student and friend Dr. Zach asked me to join (I misunderstood; he asked me to 'like' his site) his atheist organization today and I wrote him:

Thank you for the invite to your cup of tea, but it's not for an old agnostic by the likes of me. Why? I'd have my doubts you see.

With kind regards,
Rich

            Zack emailed back:
Have a Good Friday nonetheless! I wonder what Merlyn would have to say to Jesus among the Dead...

**

I was thinking about writing something clever but he asks a good question. I am thinking hypothetical here. Merlyn traditionally is a Druid first but he knows the ways of the Western Christian Church of the seventh century. He knows Greek and Latin as well as Celt and the Old to Middle English of those times. At least this is how I see him in the Merlyn books. I have no idea what he or anyone else would say to Jesus upon meeting him on the street let's say. And, hypothetically, what would Jesus say to Merlyn in return, then or now (among the Dead) in our twenty-first century?

This is a complex philosophical question. What would anyone say to Jesus, and what might Jesus say in return upon such a meeting among the Dead?  (1448)

I don't feel uneasy thinking about the question, but I do feel somewhat unqualified, even in a fiction to conjure up a suggestive dialogue between Merlyn and Jesus.

Let's stick with Zach's question: His assumption is the Jesus is among the Dead and Merlyn is standing next to him. I would assume, as human beings, they would exchange polite pleasantries as this is a chance meeting. In the hypothetical, beyond the pleasantries, who would speak first and what would he say? Is this acceptable so far? - Amorella

It is to me, at least in the hypothetical.

In either case (that is either one is speaking first), I suggest this opening: "How are you feeling about yourself?" - I say this in context that both are well known among the Dead and both carry a human burden in being known, that is, being famous/infamous among all the human dead. Post. - Amorella

2306 hours. I have been thinking on this off and on and I think this is an excellent question for any one of the Dead to sincerely ask another sheorhe cares about. It is an opening for an honest heartansoulanmind dialogue by any two or more of the Dead. Thank you, Amorella. It takes me a while to realize how perceptive you are about being human.

Ironic, huh? Time for you to get a good night's sleep, young man. Post. - Amorella

Notes - You asked / wordless / set up for Dead 16 /

Mid-morning. You are awaiting a call from Kim as you promised you would go up tonight if needed to take care of the boys tomorrow as there is no childcare day school because of Good Friday. Grandma and Grandpa Paik are scheduled to be up there so she probably won't call. You are the backup-in-case.

0948. All this trivia sometimes bothers me Amorella, the only good thing about it is that if I lose my memory as did my grandfather I can read about parts of my everyday life but if I don't remember who I am what difference will it make? Shoot, I might even forget how to read.

Trivia is a part of life, orndorff, and you are recording it in conjunction with your long held theory that a writer's environment is always of importance to herorhis art. What do you say to that, boy? - Amorella

I think you misunderstand, Amorella. My long held theory was in deference to real writers, the ones in the American, British and World literature courses, not to myself. I am the scribe and editor, not the writer. So, I will turn the table here. What is your environment other than myself?

I am here and there; where you have memory I have existence. - Amorella

That's a short and easy explanation. I even can understand the concept. I don't believe I have ever thought that concept before.

         Why would you? - Amorella

I didn't even think you would respond to my question because I sounded arrogant and clever at the same time when I was thinking/writing it.

It is not so easy as humans sometimes think it is to know when you are being innocent or clever and/or arrogant. - Amorella

         What does this mean?

It means human beings, children and adults, retain some forms of innocence. There would be no HeavenOrHellBothOrNeither if this were not so. - Amorella

         This sounds a bit radical.

Well, think on it, boy, because that's the way it is from my perspective. You asked and I answered. Post. - Amorella

1108 hours. Exercises are completed. Do you have memory?

No need for memory, boy. - Amorella

You need not respond with words as I can see you have none. -- You are arrogant to think you have overstepped your bounds. You have no idea what the bounds are until you have come to them. Go take a relaxing bath. Later, dude. Post. - Amorella

Early afternoon. Lunch at Penn Station and now you are at Pine Hill Lakes Park in downtown Mason. The flowers are coming up on the west hill and one has actually blossomed a bright yellow. Carol finished The Innocent yesterday and has a new one with her but is reading the May "Consumer Reports" that arrived today. You were going to work on the audio for chapters eight and nine but forgot your earphones. Let's work on Dead 16 instead. - Amorella

1411 hours. I set up the document and was about to go into Braided Dreams for the previous segment and realized there isn't one. Beyond this I have no clue other than Merlyn is involved, well, I assume he's involved.

I just re-read Dead 15; it is hard to believe I forgot what it was about already. It is rather sad actually. I was really pumped when I finished that segment. Blew me away, and here, at the moment I didn't remember what it was about, not a clue.

Mid-afternoon. Two kid's ice creams in cups eaten at leisure in the car at Graeter's and now a stop at Kroger's on Tylersville.  Merlyn is involved but so is a flashback to the time of the first Rebellion. You were intuitively correct in checking first, but you were checking the wrong document. Let's go to the second chapter of The Rebellion. - Amorella

1601 hours. We are home and the groceries are put away. We are upstairs I am in the chair and Carol is sitting on the bed watching HGN where a young couple are looking for a new home (instead of renting) in Austin, Texas. I can't concentrate presently.

1657 hours. We watched the 30 minute HGN show then Carol headed to the basement and I took the cats to the west bedroom and opened the window. Jadah immediately sat on the sill and enjoyed the full sun and Ellie sat in the sun in the immediate chair under the sill. You could tell they were enjoying the experience. Domestic cats are still cats, no question about it -- hunters and sun worshipers both. It is no wonder the ancient Egyptians liked cats. Our short hair would fit right in among the pillars and pyramids I believe. Jadah has a well-coordinated black and white coat, pink paw pads, a pink nose and those jade-hued eyes as well as long white whiskers and eyebrows. Jadah is a very handsomely well-groomed and dressed cat. Ellie is downstairs keeping Carol company especially as it is getting closer to dinner time. Maine raccoon cats carry a lot of hair, poundage and a good healthy appetite, as well they should.

1715 hours. What am I looking for in chapter two, Amorella?

You'll know when we arrive. We'll cut and paste the section onto the Dead 16 doc then we'll go from there. - Amorella

1736 hours. I have a little over 900 words from three scenes, 2, 11 and 12. They are the only scenes that would fit within context of Dead 15 in any case, so I included them all.

These scenes will work. - Amorella

Which scenes did you actually want me to pick? Okay, the question is unnecessary.

Add them here and then you can better see where we are going. - Amorella

Scene 2

This Elysium works on what is presently known in science. The connection between the Dead and the Living is in the mind’s perception. The Living help the Dead by learning and increasing the bounds of human experience.
Everyone contributes through self-education, what one learns in and from life is taken with the Dead. The human mind, if you will, serves as a serendipitous taxi service. The Dead, of course, are out of time, therefore have a more easily develop theory, which they inversely pass on to the Living. The River Styx is the conduit, for whatever the river is in actuality, it is a Form that carries a current of new ideas and concepts both to the Living from the Dead and from the Dead to the Living.
The reader is as an angelic-like observer of a portion of these Books on Life and Death. Imagine, if you will, your mind as angelic-like, but only in its form. Imagination is a prerequisite to reading or listening to these books.

Scene 11

Morning, the fourth day.
As the sky turned a light blue in the low eastern sky, a first pre-chosen assembly of the Dead began to rise and in a systematic planned manner arrived at Stone Hill and picked up a few stones and wheeled or carried them back to Eleusis Street and set them down along the side walkways. Another preferred group began carrying the stones down Eleusis to near the shore of the Styx River.
This operation was continually carried on during the day. The conversations among the Dead were general or personal but no one even in a whisper gave a reason for this silent maneuvering. Others carried on their daily habits for reasonable comfort. Each appeared to know what they were to do and from above the entire process looked like a nest of ants on a mission of food gathering, however, in this case they are the nearby Dead gathering food for thought.
With the elected ten thousand this is more easily grasped, and intuition runs deep. All Eve’s children recognize a truth when they feel it from the inside out. Feeling is not declaring however, and in here, true translation from one sense to another is not so easily accomplished no matter how heartfelt it may be. Elected, as used in these books, means favored, all who enter Elysium are favorite sons and daughters, it does not mean that the other children are not cared for or loved, but some are or become favorites. Parents who claim they love all their children equally deny a truth of nature within.
To absolve a few questions between the two social terms, the elite and the proletariat, for instance, I’ll say each individual is judged equally, but how the person lived is, in part, up to how the person chose to live her-or-his common life under the circumstances she-or-he lived. Souls are all-common in these books. Hearts are distinct as are minds. Recent Dead who have a problem with this. and come Here, will find there is an awakening of higher consciousness. Otherwise, why would the person be Here in the first place.
The only roost one rules is her-or-his own. This sharpens the sense of Free Will. People have no fear of other people Here. Control is genetic, in that the two common elements of living are a birth and a death date. Beyond that, is the natural growth of heart and of mind. Necessity provides the few rules, nature abides.

Scene 12

This is the Supervisor. While I watch individual heartsansoulsanminds their souls experience the fact they are being observed. This causes a possible imbalance, a teeter-totter of heart and mind in the deepest of unconscious levels. This is how it is. A rule. Mix this with Free Will and the heart and mind resort to a very intimate pairing. Subtle changes in behavior may eventually result.
I know this Place like it is the back of my hand, which it isn’t. The Dead will continue to grow. Are they going to build a bridge across the River Styx? I do not know. The Dead don’t know themselves, and the Living know even less.
Traditionally, in the later Medieval Age the Virtues and Vices were simplified and separated into four-teen qualities. This story and the next two include them as it is necessary for the reader to discern the subtle differences. This is not an easy task but it raises the bar for those who are curious about the eventual outcome. These are those traditional four-teen in alphabetical order: the Virtues: Abstinence, Chastity, Diligence, Humility, Kindness, Liberality and Patience. The Vices are as follows: Avarice, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Pride, Sloth and Wrath.
Now, let’s return to the humans and watch these qualities sparkle from time to time as they run from heart to mind and back again. This species is not to be toyed with, or any other that is similar in heart-an-soul-an-mind. It is interesting to observe growth under such circumstances when you are a timeless being such as myself. I wish all such species well.

1757 hours. I have searched the Dead summaries and it does not appear I have used this already. Also, the billiard table allusion, will this be used?

You appear to be ready but it will soon be suppertime. Yes, the billiard table will be used. More on that later. Post. - Amorella
