Readying for a quick trip to Columbus to have a Bob Evans lunch (off Sawmill Road a block or so south of I-270) with Uncle John, Carol’s cousin Dwight, and Mary Lou. Blue sky and a clean car for a better ride.
Mid-afternoon, and you are sitting in the lot (waiting for Carol) outside of Chico’s at the Prime Outlet, Jeffersonville, midway between Cincinnati and Columbus on I-71. Good lunch with Uncle John, Dwight, and Mary Lou. Uncle John (a retired urologist) told hospital and clinic stories and mentioned a nonfiction he had just read titled, The Forgotten 500 by Gregory A. Freeman, about the rescuing of five hundred plus American pilots from the Nazis (who parachuted in Yugoslavia after bombing runs) saved by a Serbian guerilla, General Draza Mihailovich (later executed by Tito). Dwight, his son, talked about local Westerville and Ohio politics. Lively discussions.
First, let’s go to Mario and Thales and their strategy to bring the Dead together, to rally the troops, so to speak and we will end the discussion with the chess moves to complete scene one, chapter seven. – Amorella.
Later, home. You worked on the chess moves and can finish work on this first scene tomorrow. Why don’t you check the general’s name and place it above. Then post. – Amorella.
I found more information on The Forgotten 500 online at teslasociety.com. The story reminds me of the unsung heroes in Stephenson’s A Man Called Intrepid.
