St. Patrick’s Day. You are sitting in Bob Evans in Westerville waiting for Fritz who should arrive shortly. Uneventful trip up though several highway patrol cars were out catching speeders like young lions after wildebeests. Lunch and conversation with Fritz was interesting and fun as always. Then to Bob’s to find he and Patti looking refreshed and Bob looked gaunt but otherwise healthy. Bob is looking forward to continuing writing his poetry. And, you were happy to hear he was working on a new one. Again, as with Fritz, excellent conversation on a myriad of mutual topics.
Almost twenty-one hundred hours and you have been home since supper(left over unfrozen chili). You and Carol watched the news and are hopeful there will be progress in both Japan and the Middle East. After watching this week’s Harry’s Law, you are done with television for the night. Carol is catching up on one of her copied programs, Criminal Minds.
Last night about two in the morning you were listening to a Japanese internet station “Blue Heron Radio” and heard the drums of “Hiten Ryu Daiko – Hiten rya” and found them wonderfully paced and also relaxing at the same time. You found your mind connects with what you consider traditional Japanese music. You imagined empathy for their present plight grew, and even though imagined it did grow in ways of music without words.
I don’t really know which words are the song and which are the musicians, but I listened to several songs, some were nature sounds. It was quite relaxing. I plan on listening (with headphones) upon going to bed tonight. There is something in the musical tones that are different than western musical tones. Very subtle to me. Sets a very interesting responsive mood within the brain, I think it is in the brain rather than the mind. The brain first. I have read some research on the use of vowels in the Japanese language, that their vowels have meanings in themselves and this triggers a Westerner’s response. I wonder if there is a connection in the music too.
Post. Tomorrow more time for reflection on concept of angels to show you the difference (in here) from an Angel and a Betweener in your mind. You will need to review your Milton notes on the subject of Angels.
I think we already did this, Amorella. No. We did something with the Angels but not the contrast with a Betweener. Too many years of notes. I just don’t want to repeat material already in the blog, although I know I have made repeats from time to time. I don't think I ever thought of comparing the two but perhaps I have. Sounds interesting to me.
Good.
