Notes - Tampa and St. Pete / Birthday Muse

20 July 11

You arrived at Bill and Linda’s in South Tampa about fourteen-thirty hours, relaxed with conversation with both, took a nap, and went to the nearby steak house for dinner. Linda’s treat. Having trouble getting online as their password appears to have been changed and their daughters Jean or Jenni have to let you know what it is. Kim and family are arriving at noon and there is juxtapostioning because normally you could not get into the condo until after noon. However, you called Chris M. and she said you could go tonight if you wished as no one was there this week. Anyway, you are going early in the morning to move your stuff in. Linda is helping and she and Carol will come back to go shopping – you will put things in order and go pick up Kim at noon, then drive them back to the condo. Carol and Linda will arrive a bit later and perhaps Jean and Bill will come over too. Moving in is always busy, a fun busy.

We had a good trip down. Spent the night in Cordele, GA so it wasn’t a long ride today. I love the drive. All those drives since 1972 – summers, Christmas breaks, Spring breaks – always pumped for the trip, and we still are. Beautiful scenery along the way – not California Rt. 1, but beautiful and diverse anyway.

Add this to tomorrow when you get a chance. – Amorella.

It doesn’t say anything relating to writing or – it is just a journal entry, and I haven’t thought about any kind of ‘engine’ on the trip except the car engine of course.

This posting is about family, orndorff. The books and blog center on the spirituality of human family of which you are a part, though sometimes wish you weren’t. – Amorella.

True, at least to a point. I didn’t pick out the titles of my first set of three books, Stuck, Home, and On Earth out of the blue. Which reminds me – I wrote those three first, they became the “Diplomatic Text” sections of the Merlyn series. So, although I said I wrote the three Merlyn books in three years what I really did was add “The Brothers” and “Grandma’s Stories” selections to Stuck (calling it ‘Diplomatic Text’). It would have probably been more reasonable to write those three books and divide them into “The Brothers” as one novel, “Grandma’s Stories” the second (seemingly unrelated) novel, and the third, “Pouch Text”.

It would not have been reasonable at all. Tomorrow, orndorff. – Amorella.

You had another busy day. Over at the condo on Gulf Blvd. about nine unpacked and put everything in place, back to Bill and Linda’s  and to Sam’s for ‘food and wine, etc’ then they met you after you picked up Kim, Paul and Owen at the airport. Lunch at an ‘old Florida’ establishment – then to the condo for conversation and relaxation. Jean’s so to be husband arrived from work at the Daquri Deck for a supper of spirits, wraps and sweet potato fries. Back to the condo where Owen hit the beach running towards the water. It was fun to watch. He officially loves the beach and warm Gulf waters. Everyone is going to bed early.

It has been a wonderful first day on the beach. Everyone is tired. Watched the setting sun’s rays on the water. Saw a pod of dolphin already.

Enough, you see. And, you forgot to mention today is Laney’s birthday. She served as your living muse during the three books’ writings. She is two characters in the stories besides your muse: Friendly, the Marsupial, and Lady Allowyn (her name choice) in Grandma’s Stories. You were a closet romantic before the Merlyn series – she opened that door through friendship by command – and the books show the romantic you are. You are forever indebted to her leadership in that sense and friendship otherwise.

I did not forget, I sent her a note of well-wishes to her Facebook page. I have forgotten her birthday though, and mine as well as far as that goes.

Post, boy – I am forever keeping you honest. – Amorella.
