Notes -Intro sc 7 / Arthur's Perspective on Merlyn's Words

You are sitting in the lot of the Cleveland Clinic’s Family Health Center in Independence, Ohio (near I-77 and I-280) waiting for Carol, Kim and Brennan.  After their routine appointment, you are to lunch (who knows where). Yesterday had blue skies the drive up. Today, warm, cloudy and rain; you are thankful it is not snow. You are wondering on scene seven, chapter eight so let’s get to it. The conversation continues and evolves in another direction: “Where is Earth, wonders Arthur, and he asks, ‘How are people living, Merlyn?’”

Scene 7

Arthur sat in contemplation seeking a similarity with Merlyn and slowly evolved himself into a metaphor and from a metaphor into an image of an original seed that had been ejaculated dry from who knows where into who knows what – an arrow into a tree. He considered, which end am I – I’m I the arrowhead or the feather end?

Lunch at Stone Oven on Lee then a stop at Target for milk and colas. You found information on the making of Medieval arrows from two sites: the-exiles.org/essay/makingarrow and ancientcraft.co.uk/Projects/fletching. Add the photos as it adds to your imagination.

Binding the Feathers

Metal Arrowhead

Ancient/Medieval Arrows

Arrows are an interesting subject I have not thought about for a long time – the physics of the point, shaft and feathers as the binding of the feathers and the arrowhead to the shaft. This then appears to be Arthur’s way to input Merlyn’s recent analogy into his mind. I think this is really interesting to have such characters’ perspectives along the way. We were busy later. I had a good nap then did my modified aerobics for 30 minutes. Supper at Five Guys Burgers and Fries then home to relax but I am going to bed at 2100 hours. If I wake up during the night I’ll get up and write. It was a busy day for Grandma and Papa O – I think Carol will be up soon.

Tomorrow, orndorff, another such day, but you will find time to work on scene seven. Post. - Amorella
