        You had a good breakfast, Kim made eggs and blueberry  pancakes. Your sugar is slowly better after two days in the lower one-forties. Usually it is twenty to thirty points lower. Blood pressure has been averaging one hundred and seventeen over seventy-five. Paul says it is fine. You are not so sure. – Amorella

         All week I have been doing my exercises first thing, before breakfast. I don’t understand the sugar spikes the last two days. We are sitting here watching the movie, “Cars” for the one-billionth time. We are off to a park later. I’m going to be sitting in the car transcribing. I like the boys, sometimes they are cute enough to cuddle. So much noise and commotion though. At least both boys have a sense of humor, it’s their saving grace, that and cuteness (sometimes).

         That’s about all that can be said about the whole human species. – Amorella

         Late morning. You are at Preston H.O.P.E. Playground Park in Beachwood, (a part of a parking lot complex of Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine and the Mandel Community Jewish Center) off Woodland Avenue near I-271. Cloudy and thus cooler for which you are grateful as you are sitting in the parking lot while the others are on an ‘adventure’.

         Cleveland uses a variety of parks well. No shade in the lot but today it makes little difference. Parents and grandparents are out with their children/grandchildren. So much of life is in one focus or another. People can make life a joy which sounds like a good preparation for being physically dead and surviving better both now and later. Ownership invites a host of problems. Say what you will, a natural world park sounds like a good deal to me. Such is the romance – a world partly based on the public premise of Disneyworld; yet behind the scenes and stage somewhat civil business and political struggles exist. Get rid of the politics and create a non-profit business enterprise to run the country. Model on the most humanly efficient ways of delivering goods and services (the best business procedures for non-profit for the likes of McDonalds/Panera/Olive Garden, Walmart/Target/Macy’s, Apple/Sony, Honda/Toyota/Ford, the Cleveland/Mayo Clinics, UPS/FedEx and Amazon.com.)          You had lunch close by the Preston H.O.P.E. Playground Park, at a favorite spot the Olive Garden at the corner of Richmond and Harvard (next to the closest Five Guys at present). You have been thinking about Paul and how well he likes working the operating rooms in the clinic’s main campus heart center. The focus, as you see it, is ‘help save a critical care life, and then make that life better’. 

         Paul is in class today. I forgot (or did not realize) how much of the Cleveland Clinic is a teaching hospital. I think it would be a very dramatic life, helping to save an extremely ill person. And, Kim, who is helping to guide undergraduate and graduate students into careers favorable both to their major areas of study as well as to their individual personalities. Certainly it is as ‘community service’ gratifying as teaching was to Carol and myself.

         You hope their professional work is as gratifying for them as teaching was for you and Carol. - Amorella
