Notes - projected imagination / Blake-like house & yard /

1028 hours. I was in second period British literature class and we were focused on Anglo-Saxons literature, either "The Seafarer" or "Beowulf" I imagine. Someone knocked on the door and said, "Turn on your television." We watched the news for the rest of the day then headed home. The first thing I noticed on the way to the house was there were no planes flying. No planes in the air for a long time. That's what I remember. One of my former students from the previous year lost her mother on one of the higher floors. The whole event was very disconcerting. The cell phone became an immediate necessity. People wanted to be able to say 'good-bye' that's what I think. That is the way I remember nine eleven.

You and Carol are sitting in the car under the shade of sixty to seventy foot tall oaks at Shaker Heights' Horseshoe Lake Park. We can find a house online to serve as the magnificent home to your left. We will drop that house into this location. The name of the twenty multi-million dollar private company that Pyl and Blake's father owned and that Blake now runs is Communication Software Exchange (CSX). The set up will be similar to how you remember the Escort Radar Detector Company, Cincinnati Microwave, as Rich G. took you through the new building when he helped design and built the radar detectors in the late seventies and early to mid-eighties. "Write what you know," is what your mother always said, so let's stick to it where possible. - Amorella

1157 hours. This was out of the blue. I was thinking about putting together "The Dead - 3" with what I have -- the setting Merlyn conjures up for himself, a nest of once reality really. And, how this nest is built when one is dead -- a pleasant environment that one loved while on Earth. This Place-Setting of Merlyn's is actually an entanglement of thought projection, a psychological shell (as there is no physical body) to take the place of the body. Merlyn is a consciousness in a magnificently self-created lucid dream. This is, as it were, the stone house the ancient Greeks lived their death in, in book four.

Who says you can't do two things at once, boy. - Amorella

I am beyond the questions. I am feeling good about this coming chapter work. I also have been spending time reviewing and correcting or modifying the Introduction and Chapters One and Two. I keep finding errors. A major one was not changing the sections to four rather than three in the dialogue in The Brothers. And I find myself tweaking the dialogue between the two from time to time, to freshen, simplify and clarify the thinking. For instance, it just hit me that earlier, when I woke up and before my exercises I thought of changing 'asshole' to 'dummkopf' instead. If there is no need for vulgarity or profanity I will leave it out for my own comfort if nothing else.

As you used to tell your classes, most four-letter words are used out of laziness or the lack of a better vocabulary. Once you have heard them a thousand times or so their shock value is lost. Use the German words between the brothers; they will fit. They learned them growing up after the war. They will reminisce such events as you and many others did growing up in the fifties under Eisenhower. You used to think in those days, 'It may be possible that I have breathed the same air as Churchill and Roosevelt and Eisenhower, three of my living heroes.' - Amorella

You remember such silliness. It is true; I thought stuff like that. I have no idea why but I did. I remember when Kim was small and we stopped at Roosevelt's place in Warm Springs, Georgia. No one was around and I carefully and respectively pulled FDR's black cane out of its display and walked a step or two with it before replacing it. To put my hand, to wrap my fingers around the solid piece of wood -- was a rush, a 'non-verbal experience' of projected imagination touching a piece of history, a historical reality. I have experienced these events off and on most of my life. Shaking hands with Press Reynolds, the once slave; putting my hand on the cloth of an Egyptian mummy at the Ohio State University Museum in the fifties, lifting soil from the Civil War battlefield at Gettysburg, putting my fingers on a variety of historical objects . . . far too many, but the rush has always been there -- the "I am in two places at once." I am, (my heartansoulanmind within my hand) is, as it were, an entanglement projector that reenergizes my mind and my brain because at that moment I 'feel the rush' of something, an invisible and unspeakable 'witness-to-humanity' something that rests beside my heartansoulanmind within me. This is what I mean by "projected imagination".  - rho  (1247)

I don't know whether once could call it an existential moment or not but it is more real than common reality. Subjective reality can sometimes be more real than objective reality.

Carol has begun Chapter Fourteen in her latest Robin Cook novel and Brennan is still soundly asleep in the back seat. The windows are down and the sunroof is back allowing the light to project in. Light projects and so does imagination, boy. Nothing wrong with that as far as I, a separate consciousness, a being-without-eyes, can see. - Amorella

Brennan made it home, waking up along the way. Food is need one and that is what he is getting. Go take your photo of the house while the sun is right. Later, dude. Post. - Amorella

You drove over and took several pictures. Once you load them I'll help you decide which we will use in this book. - Amorella

1501 hours. We have been playing with Brennan since I returned. Lots of baby talk. He is a cheerful little kid who follows Grandma and/or Papa with his eyes (straining his neck) whenever they move about the living room. Owen had better fine motor control at Brennan's age. We will have to wait and see. Brennan was saying "Mama" and " Emm" a month ago. Right now Carol is feeding him his green beans (mush) that he would not eat when we got home.

Here is an example of Blake's house front:

I have combined three separate scenes and two houses for this composite fantasy. I won't describe the houses in too much detail and perhaps add or subtract a feature in the draft. I also need to list my characters in each section so I don't confuse one with the other. This is also something I need to watch closely in terms of the reader. Distinguishing features needed all around.

You have a lot going on, boy. You need to cement this for the reader early on. Think of a play where you have the number of major characters you have in the book and set it up so they are all on the stage in one scene. - Amorella

         Brilliant. Great idea, Amorella.

Right now, let's work on The Dead - 3 and finish this preliminary administration by the time the chapter three is completed. Post. - Amorella
