Mid-afternoon. Busy day. Currently Blue Ash
Tree Service is cutting down a very old large dead tree back in your 'woods'.
Six workers, four with chain saws.
1538 hours. I just read the newest Newsweek
(15 October 12) with a neurosurgeon's personal account of being in
"heaven" while he was in a scientifically noted coma in a Virginia
hospital for seven days. The doctor is Eben Alexander, the article, "My
Proof of Heaven" that begins on page 28.
You wrote a paragraph then recanted and
deleted. Here is why. You have never experienced what he feels he experienced.
You are an agnostic by nature but that does not stop your acceptance that G---D
may indeed be real. - Amorella
I do agree the brain + mind is extremely
powerful. If his story has some validity, then I suppose the story gives a back
door possibility that you are really "unworldly" based on his
experience, but not unworldly in the same context. Personally I don't really
care about that anymore. Some things can be debated forever and it is not worth
the effort or energy to me.
That's because you gave it up, boy. You've
given up living as far as that goes because you feel you've done what you set
out to do in your life. - Amorella
If I can get these books done for the grandsons,
that'll do me. It'll be there for them to read if the like, no obligation
though, that's what I tell people, no obligation. Everyone's busy with one
thing or another in life, important matters. My words are here for those who
are curious and have the time.
1744 hours. I
have a short paragraph:
**
Merlyn
sat on the rock in front of his comfortable hut-of-a-home on the meadow in the
river valley mostly surrounded by hill and forest and that huge granite dome to
his northeast. No billiards this time around, his mind acquiesced to his
heartfelt surroundings and his heart in turn acquiesced to his soul. His only
thought, 'I love the solitude.'
**
I
don't know how a soul sounds or what it says. I think of the soul as a
personification, I don't think of it 'living' though it may be considered as
such, from a human perspective, immortal. In the context of the book . . .
perhaps this introduction is not correctly interrupted. It is in narration mode
but I don't know who the speaker is.
First, let's go back to the definitions we
want in this context. Check your Oxford-American first. "soul - 1 the spiritual or
immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal." Wikipedia
goes on and on. In the book I think of it as an encasement for the heartanmind.
People do speak from their hearts and minds but I don't know how it would be to
speak from one's immortal part, which in the books, contains the individual's heartanmind. Heart leans emotion and mind leans intellect, I don't know
what (humanly) the soul leans towards. - Amorella
The words that quickly come to you justice
and thus wisdom. - Amorella
Out of the blue, yes, they did but
I think of the definition of 'good' (the virtues) then 'evil' (the seven
deadly). Surely this is all from a cultural orientation. This doesn't help me
here in this context (the soul as a voice).
Time for a break, boy. Later, after supper and the news. Post. - Amorella
Let's
use a woman's voice for a man's soul and a man's voice for a woman's soul. Here
is the reasoning. The soul 'marries' the heartanmind in the same way the
blacksmiths married iron and carbon to make steel, that's my simple analogy. - Amorella
Are these soul voices suggestive?
Sometimes, the soul has to find ways for the
heartanmind to listen. However, this is only for dramatic effect. A soul cannot
seduce a heartanmind any more than a heartanmind can seduce a soul. It is a
'marriage' of necessity not convenience. And, as you suggest, the soul is
interested in justice and fair play, as sheanhe is ancient and wise and
immortal, at least from the living's perspective. And, has been mentioned
before souls can be exchanged or hold hands as it were with another soul. For
instance, your used of "kindred spirit" on Facebook the other day
when you were describing your artist friend is a sense of this, it could be
classified as a "high five", a recognition of one soul to another,
that sort of thing. - Amorella
Thank you, Amorella. Interesting. This
gives me some background on how to proceed or at least what to expect from the
soul's voice, in this case, Merlyn's soul.
Ah, Merlyn's soul. I was generalizing.
Merlyn's soul has a history of touching and being touched (as do other souls)
by beggars and by kings, so to speak. A 'touch' may be as a quick kiss or
solidified hug (for instance, evoking a tear in the eye and/or a lack of speech). (Are you following me here?) - Amorella
I understand the dimensional level.
Yes, you do. - Post. - Amorella
