        You and Kim and the boys are at the Playground (near Macy's) at Polaris -- this is the first time you have ever been inside as far as you can remember. Carol is with Mary Lou, Gayle and Ralph at their apartment doing some personal touch up cleaning. You find it a rather ordinary two-bedroom apartment as it has no personalized furniture and Gayle and Ralph decor scattered about. You are thinking that you and Carol will end up with a one bedroom apartment or condo one day  - just as you began life together. Owen likes to say (when appropriate) "I am smart and happy." You are trying to teach him to say he is "intelligent and content" as a fun alternate.

         1559 hours. What is more important is that he is picking up on the structure of language. He rarely makes common grammar mistakes. This to me is more important than his number of words. For instance, when Carol says your daddy's motorcycle is like a bicycle, his response is, "Grandma they are similar." I hope he has a love of words like his Papa; uh, I hope he has a love of words similar to his Papa's love of words."

         Late dusk. You had scrambled eggs and home grown tomatoes for supper. Distinct and yummy. Carol is going to bed early. You are thinking on watching last night's "Falling Skies" the last one for the season. The September Car and Driver arrived today and since the focus was on the 2014 cars you read it. What did you find? The Honda Accord hybrid does not have a transmission. This was a surprise.

         (Later) Now that you have and have reread the set up at the bottom of the new Dead 21 document you are disturb about how to become more compromising yourself. You wonder how this compromise might work because you don't know the specifics of the Grand Compromise worked out between the Dead and the Supervisor. - Amorella

         One of the human dead is allowed to return to the Living in what amounts to a spiritual-like quantum entanglement. The Marsupial Humanoid Dead chose to elect a human because they were further behind under the assumption that the potential for change would come from the human Living first and this would eventually allow a compromise among the Marsupial Humanoids at a later date, but earlier than it would have happened without the Dead human's intervention with the Living. - Amorella

         What was gained? A member of the Dead was allowed to communicate with the Living. What was lost? The Dead were not allowed to return to the Living but those who died recently were allowed to 'post' as it were, how their close friends heartsansoulsanminds are feeling (conflicts and compromises) near the time of their immediate recent deaths (a kind of summary as to what the semi-private fears and contentment are of the Living). - Amorella

         2134 hours. I am not sure this 'translation' is accurate. I am coming to a better, more refined concept of the Grand Compromise. It is strange because I keep thinking of how human communication has changed in the last fifty years, and with the Internet who many of us can communicate with others (sometimes strangers from around the world) very cheaply; and that this 'sense of communication' can be 'moved' as it were, back to the Dead, so that both the Living and the Dead can have an exchange as such. There is an irony in this from the Dead's perspective, or there seems to be from me as one of the Living. I need to think more on this, but the irony has my interest at present. Wow. How to work this into plot form. Both the Dead and Living gain, but what of the Supervisor, what does SheanHe ultimately lose in this Grand Compromise?

         What is already done cannot be undone. Everyone pays the Piper. The Supervisor is and is not present in a fictional narrative form. - Amorella

         This has imaginary dimensions far deeper than I care to go.

         Everyone pays, boy, both the writer and the reader. What else can be done without compromising the integrity of the characters and the story and the writer and the reader? - Amorella

         2151 hours. If these three volumes of Great Merlyn's Ghost can be written within these guidelines it may forever be a mystery.
