Notes - 'Really?'

Early afternoon. After unpacking and working in and around the house in the morning you and Carol ran some errands and had lunch at Chipotle/Panera and you are presently in the Kroger parking lot at Cox and Tylersville Roads waiting for Carol and essential groceries.

1334 hours. People have on their fall jackets/clothing as there are still some occasional gusty winds in a mostly sunny sky with assorted white‘ dots’ of cumulus like so many corks in a the atmosphere above. I don’t know why I’m thinking about the bobbing ‘cork’ and who might be ‘fishing’ for whom.

We had a good safe vacation with the only foul-up, getting lost (with GPS no less) and missing seeing Jim and Jeanne. It was raining with light fog and crowded highways when we drove the east side. The car’s GPS told us to turn where we did (onto Eisenhower from 475) Jim had said to go to Carter I think). Anyway. we were heading east some five or six miles. Nothing seemed right so we got off and called only no one picked up the cell phone number we had. I left a note and after a few minutes of hopelessness and location disorientation (this is a very, very rare occurrence to me) we left but I really didn’t get re-acclimated for about another hundred miles. First, the GPS took us to I-20 into downtown Atlanta. I thought we were further north than we were, then we were five lanes on the wrong side to take the POV short cut route. It wasn’t until later that I was downright embarrassed by my actions. Jim and Jeanne appeared forgiving on the phone but I need to write them an apology. Next time we’ll meet at their house or I’ll need to really study the place we meet more closely. I assumed too much detail to the GPS, one I am still getting accustomed to.

Mid-afternoon. You bought fuel and Carol figured you got 35.7 miles per gallon. The car’s computer averages in the 37.0 range. Overall, you could casually say you got 36 miles per gallon. What do you think? – Amorella

1506 hours. Isn’t this a lie, Amorella? I got 35.7 at the pump but the car computer says I got 37. Wouldn’t it just be better to say this and let it go?

For a boy who says he’s mostly fiction you are being a bit fussy don’t you think? – Amorella

Life is complicated. I think I need a nap.

You did not have a nap; however you did wash the car with some good polishing after and you and Carol had the first seasonal treat of Graeter’s peppermint ice cream with pieces plus a dollop of hot fudge on top. – Amorella

2055 hours. We watched two White Collars, one Bluebloods and one Modern Family all from October as well as the NBC News. Doug sent me a science article on the Higgs but what attracted me more was this last section of the article.

Stephen Hawking Says Not Finding Higgs Boson Would Be 'More Interesting'

. . . In addition to talking about the discovery of the Higgs particle, Hawking discussed some of the other theories he hopes will be probed by scientists at CERN.
One is supersymmetry, a popular theory based on the idea that all of the known subatomic particles have "superpartner" particles that have yet to be observed. If these superpartners do exist, scientists could begin to explain some of the most enigmatic riddles in physics, such as the nature of dark matter, which is an invisible substance thought to make up a quarter of the universe. Scientists think dark matter may be composed of as-yet-undetected supersymmetric particles.
"I think the discovery of supersymmetric partners for the known particles would revolutionize our understanding of the universe," Hawking said.

2106 hours. Supersymmetry is composed to too much anthropomorphically built drama. It reminds me of twinning and Ira Levin’s The Boys from Brazil. I don’t think mathematics created the universe, even by accident. I would rather wonder about the ‘Cause of the Accident’ itself. It is a language problem. Physics is sometimes a problem with vocabulary getting in the way of ‘accidental meaning’ and/or ‘possible intent’ or lack of it.

Are you saying that being alive and/or being dead infers accidental meaning? – Amorella

2118 hours. I am. In the same way I dress the Big Bang with dark humor I think the concept of physics sometimes dresses matter with mathematics. The fun is trying to figure things out with tools of our own creation. Our mental tools are open to suspect and if nothing else our tools slant our argument from objective observation. The ‘Observer’ [Reality] may never “know” our observation and, as such cannot be ‘changed’ by being observed. Observing through the glass darkly may fail to discover what the glass actually is composed of.

You are rattling on, boy. You are attempting to cause a wake without defining what the prop is. Post. – Amorella

I am not sure I follow you Amorella.
