1132 hours. Tomorrow looks to be a fair day in April as the character Ahab once said before the White Whale took him and all but one of the crew to their doom.
You just had a long warm bath and the joints are feeling better. Carol has done two loads of wash and you have to get the oil changed in the Honda as you do every five thousand miles. While in the bath you were thinking about Yermey telling Blake that they have never read Earth’s Holy Scriptures on purpose but have read much of the literature pertaining to it and he gives Isaac Asimov’s two volume work on the Bible as well as The Sacred and Profane and Joseph Campbell’s works on world the world mythologies. As well as Jung and Freud and a few others you cannot remember the titles to presently. All books the books on world religions you have read, but not the sacred works you have read, which are many. Some more than once. You are thinking that this will ease into the subject with Yermey testing Blake; however it would fit more into the flow if it were Yermey and Pyl that were having this discussion with the reader, as usual, eavesdropping. What do you think? – Amorella
1144 hours. I am comfortable with this but I was thinking this was an older man to older man (so to speak) doing the talking. You are right though if there is more focus on the developing relationship between Yermey and Pyl. I did not think about that. Thank you.
Do you remember the tone used by the Catholic monk on your senior overnight at the monastery near Sao Paulo? You two talked and he suggested both the new Protestant Bible as well as the new Catholic Bible to read to compare tones and delivery based on older primary sources?
1148 hours. I do. It was an interesting evening. I had never met a monk before and he was a young fellow like myself and I was surprised we had common interests. The setting was at Mosteiro de Sao Bento, Fazenda Bela Vista, Estado de Sao Paulo. We still have the green wine bottle setting in the kitchen, Monasterial Vinho Moscatel. Some time ago my muse, Laney, gave me a small monk of good cheer on the top of the cork that now sets on the bottle.
That is the tone we will use in a late night ‘bull session’ sort of arrangement like college students have from time to time, one where the clash of ideas is sorted out in a somewhat reasonable fashion as neither person is being dogmatic and they are all sensitive to what others have to say. – Amorella
Yes. I can deal with that. I have experienced these sorts of events over the years. I like it because of those experiences. Brings back good memories of youth and the challenges of learning other cultures up close and personal.
Good. You have other things to do at the moment. Post. - Amorella
Late afternoon. You had the oil changed at the usual Jiffy Lube; with an Easter special you saved an extra two dollars over the coupon. You picked up Subway for home and read the newest Harpers and Time and filled out an extensive Consumer Report’s online survey, and are ready for a nap. Carol is already taking one.
1813 hours. Carol is still napping and I just woke up. This has not been a routine day for either of us.
And with that here you are thinking on Jesus. – Amorella
I was thinking about his suffering on such a Friday. I have little doubt he was a real person. He may have even survived the crucifixion but I don’t believe he came back from the Dead. I don’t believe the Christian version in any case.
Because it is not reasonable? – Amorella
No, because there is too much connected multi-cultural imagination.
Who would have ever thought you would give this as a response? – Amorella
1824 hours. Unbelievable. Not me. I think I must not be fully awake. I was caught unaware.
This is something to think about boy, being caught unaware. – Amorella
You had the last of the left over turkey soup for supper and are presently waiting for Carol at Kroger’s at Tylersville and Cox. You have been thinking about Pyl and how Christian she might be. You never asked but see there might be a problem when Yermey and she talk. – Amorella
1949 hours. I don’t know how she feels because she is not I, even though she is fiction. I have let all the characters be whom they determine themselves to be for better or worse. Whatever you think best for the story Amorella is fine with me.
Then how about Pyl being caught unaware? – Amorella
I can relate to that most of my life. Your humor is endless.
Even when there is no joke my boy. That’s the beauty of it. – Amorella
1956 hours. You are the Master in my eyes. Such wit takes me down every time.
That is as close as you are ever going to get. – Amorella
Fine with me. I would be uncomfortable otherwise.
No kidding? – Amorella
2000 hours. Should I work on the next chapter now?
Why not, let this settle and percolate. Post when convenient. – Amorella
