Notes - brain entanglement? / theory on thought /

Late morning. Carol is readying to go for her walk.

1244 hours. Earlier I found this article on Improbable Research and it is something I am interested in using someplace along the line, at least as a theory.

Profiling Professor Persinger - part 1

Human brains and lightning-discharges – what might they have in common? Could there be potentially congruent scale-invariant quantitative properties connecting the two? These questions have been examined by professor Michael A. Persinger of the psychology dept. at Laurentian University, Ontario, Canada. The professor presents his findings in the May 2012 edition of the scholarly journal Frontiers in Integrative Neuroscience explaining that :
“The space-time characteristics of the axonal action potential are remarkably similar to the scaled equivalents of lightning.”
As the professor points out, connections regarding animals and electricity were hinted at as long ago as the 18th century by investigators such as Luigi Galvani. But Persinger jumps several steps beyond Luigi and his galvanised frogs’ legs, by examining and comparing the transient energies of lightning bolts and the brain’s neuronal firings.
“The energy and current densities from these transients within their respective volumes or cross-sectional areas are the same order of magnitude. Length–velocity ratios and temporal durations are nearly identical. There are similar chemical consequences such as the production of nitric oxide. Careful, quantitative examination of the characteristics of lightning may reveal analogous features of the action potential that could lead to a more accurate understanding of these powerful correlates of neurocognitive processess.

Part 2

Can one’s brain become entangled? Einstein called quantum entanglement ‘spooky’, but he was nevertheless obliged to grapple with the puzzles and possibilities of Verschankung – which were first fully described by Erwin Schrödinger, circa 1935. Since then, a series of experimental studies have convincingly demonstrated entanglement behaviour at the quantum level – but few theorists have extrapolated the idea to a biological macro-entanglement scale which could suggest the possibility of the exchange of information between the human brain’s cerebrum and the geophysical, electromagnetic-gravitational environment. But Professor Michael A. Persinger of the psychology dept. at Laurentian University, Ontario, Canada, has done just that in a paper for the Journal of Consciousness Exploration & Research October 2010, Vol. 1, Issue 7, pp. 785-807. His paper not only examines the implications of ‘thought energy’ and the possible involvement of gravitational energy with consciousness, but also describes the brain’s emission of photons during thought processes. The professor also draws attention to Schumann resonances, explaining how :
“The physical intensities of the Schumann frequencies as well as their patterns are remarkably similar to those of the human brain.”

You dropped it in. Let’s post as it is about time to leave for lunch. - Amorella

Lunch at Panera/Chipotle then you bought gas for the Honda at Kroger’s. Again, it was twenty-two miles per gallon in town for twelve gallons at three fifty-nine a gallon; and that was with ten cents off a gallon.

1453 hours. We are home after deciding it is too warm to sit out at the park and read, not enough shade in the day yet. I sprayed some weeds before coming in and spreading mulch is on my mind; perhaps later in the afternoon. All one has to do is look around and see there is always something that can be done in and around the house.

You had a long nap then selective spread ten bags of mulch around the front of the house. At supper (left over soup) you watched “Mr. Selfridge”, NBC News and “The Mentalist”. – Amorella

2206 hours. I was going to finish up chapter seventeen but I’ll wait until tomorrow. I have the first segment completed. Maybe I’ll do one more before bed. The nap helped tremendously. Half those bags are gone; the others will be easier. I am tired of seeing the Honda being left out at night. Saturday we are leaving about nine and we’ll have lunch once we arrive at Kim and Paul’s. It looks like we’ll be taking care of the boys from mid-afternoon until sometime Sunday. I have to remember to get four-dozen chocolate chip cookies for the Class of 1960 picnic on Sunday.

You are excited on the plausibility of ‘thought energy’ in the articles above. Doug also found them interesting. You wonder on this leading to a concept of a shared spiritual entanglement of thought energy in the form of a ‘higher human consciousness’ after physical death. You are thinking like in the Thunder myth, where this entanglement would be Here somewhere within space and time and also There, somewhere Before and Beyond space and time at once, each being a reflective ‘lightning’ if you will of the other – and as before the collision of matter in space and time – there would be, as it were, no thunder, only the lightning being enlightened. Is that about right? – Amorella

2236 hours. It is better put than I could communicate it myself. Thank you, Amorella.
