You were in the tub relaxing and the idea
hit that ‘a thought, a pure thought does not exist. A thought must be dressed
in clothing in words. A thought, by definition cannot be naked, at least not in
this world.’ Your point being that an original thought is always disguised in
something it is not. Do you accept this for what it is? – Amorella
I do not accept this as a question.
What would be the purpose of a naked
thought? – Amorella
The purpose is to better define the original Lightning in
the Thunder myth.
Growth
and maturity is its intent. – Amorella
But in a nearby past post you say passion
greases the Lightning. Does this mean that passion greases growth and maturity
because sometimes passion destroys growth and maturity. I need to define passion
here.

You
and Carol have been working in the yard; you have a small bit of trimming on
the southwest quad so it will match Tim and Amy’s whose yard is dressed to the
nines for tonight’s party.
1045 hours. Checking my email I received this photo of our
Class of 1960 Picnic.2014 from Jean. I have some dear old friends in here.
Westerville High School Class of 1960 – Spring Picnic 2014
You
showed this photo to Carol who identified four or five. She knows more but not
everyone attended. Next year is the fifty-fifth reunion; you are hoping more
will attend for that one. -

1057 hours. I’m sure everyone pictured has a novel or two or
a work of art in them whether they choose to share it or not. Most if not all
came from four or five generations of Ohio born family stock. That’s the way it
was in the quiet peaceful village of Westerville, Ohio. Shoot, when my
grandfather was young North American Natives still lived upstream near Alum
Creek. I used to have a painting that he gave me of one of them. I may still
have that someplace. I should, but who knows where. I would have never thrown
it away.
Post. - Amorella
1106 hours. What about the word ‘passion’?
Afternoon. Carol is finishing sweeping the
kitchen after the living and dining rooms. You have been out trimming bushes
and raking the front yard. While online you found an article that relates to
how human beings process information.

Sound and vision: Visual cortex processes
auditory information too
Scientists studying brain process involved in sight have found the
visual cortex also uses information gleaned from the ears as well as the eyes
when viewing the world.
They suggest this auditory input enables the visual system to predict
incoming information and could confer a survival advantage.
Professor Lars Muckli, of the Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology
at the University of Glasgow, who led the research, said: "Sounds create
visual imagery, mental images, and automatic projections.
"So, for example, if you are in a street and you hear the sound
of an approaching motorbike, you expect to see a motorbike coming around the
corner. If it turned out to be a horse, you'd be very surprised."
The study, published in the journal Current Biology, involved
conducting five different experiments using functional Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (fMRI) to examine the activity in the early visual cortex in 10
volunteer subjects.
In one experiment they asked the blindfolded volunteers to listen to
three different natural sounds – birdsong, traffic noise and a talking crowd.
Using a special algorithm that can identify unique patterns in brain
activity, the researchers were able to discriminate between the different
sounds being processed in early visual cortex activity.
A second experiment
revealed even imagined images, in the absence of both sight and sound, evoked
activity in the early visual cortex.
Lars Muckli said: "This research enhances our basic understanding
of how interconnected different regions of the brain are. The early visual
cortex hasn't previously been known to process auditory information, and while
there is some anatomical evidence of interconnectedness in monkeys, our study
is the first to clearly show a relationship in humans.
"In future we will test how this auditory information supports
visual processing, but the assumption is it provides predictions to help the
visual system to focus on surprising events which would confer a survival
advantage.
"This might provide insights into mental health conditions such
as schizophrenia or autism and help us understand how sensory perceptions
differ in these individuals."
The project was part of a five-year study funded by a €1.5m European
Research Council consolidator grant entitled 'Brain reading of contextual
feedback and predictions', and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences
Research Council.
The
researchers will explore more sounds to find out how precise predictive coding
in the brain can be.

hours. I dropped a bold on the type and am wondering, since I have done a lot
of imagination in my life, what kind of early visual cortex I have. In the
books I have imagined most every scene in its happening. One would think I
would remember more, but I don’t.
You have one more piece of work to do in the
yard, spread out the last bag of mulch. Why don’t you go and be done with it.
It is occupying too much mental space for no good reason. – Amorella

hours. I completed the work. I could paint the mailbox stand but I’ll wait
until next week. Seems like I just did that a couple of years ago – too much
bird poop erosion.
You
are home from Katelyn’s graduation party – a good time had by all. Now you can
change clothes and relax and take out the trash for tomorrow. Later, dude. –

hours. Katelyn is going to go to Ohio State is, at present anyway, wanting to
be an English major – good for her, just like her father. It is exciting to be
young and eager and mostly ready to take on adult-like freedoms and
responsibilities. Katelyn’s older sister Lauren and brother Ben are also at the
party. It is not often they are all home at the same time. I loved my students;
they always kept me young; online on Facebook many still do. Carol and I have
been very fortunate and I am grateful for it.
