Notes - develop Dead 2.2 / Stats Compare / plans

You are over at Pine Hill Lakes Park earlier than usual. It is a bright cool morning and runners are out. You forgot to check the stats on this first chapter; you can do this later today. Chapter Two’s “The Dead” segment is going to be set up differently. Socrates is coming to the front with a request to see Merlyn concerning a circumstance of some deliberation. – Amorella

0809 hours. This is unexpected, and I am suddenly somewhat more than anxious, which is overriding my curiosity here. First, I am concerned about making Socrates a character in this particular setting; and second, what could his ghostly spirit have to say to Merlyn’s ghostly spirit that would become a part of this fictional work?

You really are not ready though one would think you would be used to these interruptions from time to time. – Amorella

0817 hours. It is such a beautiful morning Amorella, and it is mostly quiet but for the songbirds. I have no idea what Socrates is going to say to Merlyn. What does he do, knock on the door to Merlyn’s sanctuary or does he just show up out of the blue. I don’t really know who Socrates is, or how he is as a personable character. Merlyn does not have to think about it, as he does not know he is about to have an unexpected, though I would imagine, delightful guest. If Merlyn were sitting in the Honda front seat beside me I could deal with that, but Socrates. I don’t know what I’d say besides, “Hello, and how are you this fine morning, Socrates?” That would be my instinct and then leave it up to him. I would rather do the listening, since he would be treated as a guest. (How else would you treat him?)

Later. You and Carol drove to McD’s on Mason-Montgomery for drinks and each had an Egg McMuffin for an added breakfast; earlier you each had a nuked bakery bread with crunchy peanut butter and raisins. Presently you are in the shade on the deck. Carol is working on Saturday’s Sudoku and you set up and completed the stats on Chapter 2.1. Here are:

1130 hours. The second one has more words but I didn’t include the chapter opening commentary. Also, I have shortened the commentary this time around by leaving out the concluding paragraph.

The point is the consistency. Post. - Amorella

Early afternoon. You and Carol worked on the yard and are taking a rest since it is becoming warmer. At this point your GMG.1 final draft has 68402 words. You copied your Page document onto a Word doc. because that is what you will use for e-publication.

You just had a Subway picnic and are sitting in the shade down at the canoe livery along the Little Miami. Carol just now finished her book The Drop, which she says was “okay, different.” – So, you decided to come home as Carol didn’t have anything else to read. – Amorella

1532 hours. I have never seen a book that included appears to have the first two chapters of another of his books as an advertisement of sorts. Seems a little crass to me, Mr. Connelly, but perhaps it is modern ‘marketing’. I am going to have to seriously look into this ebook business.

Why don’t you take a few minutes now. You know more than you did, and you are finished with the book, at least until you decide on a publisher. Plus, you have your book covers picked out. Let’s research, boy. – Amorella

You spent some time and decided to send a note to Book Baby; you appear more comfortable in your introduction to them. Give yourself some time to update the genealogy because tomorrow you are going to stop and visit with Aunt Patsy and Uncle Ernie before stopping at Kim and Paul’s and spending the night, then seeing Andy at Ameriprise in Worthington Monday morning.
