Last night you ate at Bun’s (1863) in
Delaware then drove to the house and it looks quite different. Kim in
particular was excited for us to see it without telling what had been done. The
interior trim is done, the built in book shelves are in the boys’ room and
Kim’s office, the interior repainted, bathroom tile is down and walled, the
extensive wood floor is down, interior ceiling lights and fans are in, the
electric is on, the yard has been formed and seeded and the watering system
works for the grass and the trim foliage is around the house and four of the
six trees have been planted. Most lights are in and the house is coming along.
Kim and Paul close later this month. We are all excited for this to be done and
have them moved in before the Florida vacation in November. This morning, you
and Carol were awaken by the boys who said they were spiders and acting
accordingly. Once they were off to school Kim and Paul (who is off today) took
you to breakfast and First Watch. You and Carol then drove to Westerville to
see Aunt Patsy and you had a good hour chat. Aunt Patsy and Aunt Ruthie both
like the fact that you and they shared some of the same high school teachers at
Westerville. And, when Aunt Patsy talked about being invited to harvest time at
Aunt Theo and Uncle Doc’s in the twenties you said you were invited in the late
forties. Few people today would have such a memory of living on the farm during
harvest time for about a week when human labor was extensively used. The table
at lunch was as one large Thanksgiving dinner every day. The first one you saw
there was no electric in the house yet and one out house and one well. After
the visit you called Kim and had lunch with her and Paul at Potbelly’s at
Polaris before they continued on their errands and you headed home. – Amorella
1754 hours. Good summary of the essentials Amorella. Kim also had us
looking at houses/condos in the area and in Westerville on the computer last
night. We had a very good visit. The car got 40 m/g on the way up but 38.3 on
the way home because of a strong south wind both days.
