Notes - such humor / settled mind

Late Sunday morning. You watched a YouTube production on using the Shark floor steamer and are going to use it on the upstairs bathrooms today.

1127 hours. I feel better seeing the machine in operation. The production says that it is not better than mopping the floor the old fashioned way but it is more convenient in that the floor dries almost immediately. Carol bought the machine I’ll give it a try. She is on the phone with Linda, who has only three teaching days left in her teaching career. Good for her. The four Hammond sisters will all be retired by the end of next week. Cathy and Gretchen are retired, so that’s all us Orndorff’s. What lives we eight have had. Amazing to me since I’ve known my sisters their whole lives and have known Carol and her sisters since they were 12, 14, 16 and 19. Linda is the youngest and was in junior high. Gayle was a freshman. Mary Lou was a sweet sixteen, and Carol nineteen, when I first became acquainted with the Hammond family. Cathy is the same age as Carol and Gretchen is the same age as Gayle. Our family generation except for me is a miniscule part of the baby-boomer generation. I wonder what the Dead might think of the ‘blood-lines’ when there isn’t any blood? (1151)

You used the Shark steamer easily and with success. Carol made scrambled eggs and ham for lunch. You made the toast and also read the newest Harper’s during the quiet lunch. Carol worked on an Enquirer word puzzle at the same time. You each had a Klondike ice cream bar for dessert. The day is as cloudy as it ever was – the only sound is that of someone cutting wood with a chainsaw. One of those days, eh, orndorff? – Amorella

1458 hours. You don’t use “eh” that often, Amorella. The word has a funny spelling. Used in the context you have it would appear to me to sound “AA” as in [h]ey with the meaning “don’t you think?” or “don’t you agree?” I have to say it almost has an Upper Michigan, Wisconsin and/or Canadian flavor to it. I’m still thinking about the bloodlines among the Dead, at least in the Merlyn books – there wouldn’t be any. So and so begetting so and so other wouldn’t be worth a hill of beans. Yet, all along I use the concept of everyone being related to everyone else going back to our (that is, every one who is alive; to her or his) original theoretical genealogical Mother.

In here, boy, it is the heart of humanity that is carried on through the generations. Later. Post. – Amorella

1517 hours. I must be terribly boring.

What is your emphasis on “must"? Is this a declarative sentence or a mismarked question? – Amorella

1520 hours. Such humor you have.

Late afternoon. According to BookBaby you sold three books via Amazon Kindle earning $6.15. You are surprised that you ‘raked in’ so much for a $2.98 ebook. – Amorella

I am, that’s $2.05 a book. I was sure Amazon would take more. Actually, I had no idea how much they would take but assumed I would make maybe ten percent or thirty cents a book. BookBaby Publishing charged me $337.00 to print and publish the title page and book contents. This was a fair price as far as I am concerned because the ebook has a professional look and I am quite satisfied with their work and distribution.

Dusk. The lights on the tree lit moments ago. Do you have something on your mind? – Amorella

1722 hours. No, my mind has settled for the night.
