Notes - eye of a stranger / hole in the bucket / communication / mostly fiction

Shortly after noon. Carol has returned from donating at the Hoxworth Blood Center, and you will be going to lunch at Longhorn, which has more or less become a tradition after her giving blood. You looked over yesterday’s post online and are satisfied with it though you have some misgivings about putting yourself in the situation in the first place. – Amorella

1214 hours. It was not with intent. Sometimes having this blog online is annoying because strangely enough it is so in my head private. However, for me I see being online a necessity as a check and balance to my overall logical and creative nature. Sometimes I can’t see the words for the writing on the wall, Amorella

In here art is as much truth as science, even more so when you’re dead, from my reckoning. – Amorella

1219 hours. Is this part of what is going through Merlyn’s heartansoulanmind in Dead 9?

In a sense, yes. His old Druid mind still considers Faeries, some; to be as some Angels. Mysterious strangers one meets in life, those who say, “Hello, I know you my old friend,” with a twinkle in with their eye and then move on. – Amorella

1224 hours. Now, in this I have an understanding.

         Really? Who knew? – Amorella

1224 hours. Unknown and briefly flashed connections are in such a quick visitor in a crowd or walking along a street or in a store. “Hello, I know you.” Science will say there are lots of logical reasons for this, and I agree with them. But a stranger’s eye hitting into the heartansoulanmind of who one is, is something else again.

Now you are cooking. Enjoy lunch. Post. - Amorella

Carol had her favorite, a grilled chicken strawberry salad and you had you six ounce sirloin with a loaded baked potato with a side of mushrooms. Prompt service by your favorite, Jen, who had your drinks waiting as you were seated. This is with all of her tables filled (you were last) and half the bar that she is also responsible for. On the way home a neighbor called and said she heard a loud ‘clicking’ as you drove by. You checked the tires and sure enough a inch screw was lodged. You dropped Carol off at the community center and you drove uptown to Barnes Auto and he fixed the tire immediately. Then you stopped at the center and did three laps yourself, Carol did the total of a mile for which she is pleased. Presently after some errands you are sitting at the north lot of Pine Hill Lakes Park under more shade today than a few days ago. Carol is on page 215 of Mad River. – Amorella

1632 hours. Carol has a large half diet, half-high test Coke from McD and I have a large vanilla Frosty from Wendy’s. Earlier today I got the Avalon washed and waxed and dusted out but I haven’t swept out the floor yet. It is a beautiful Spring day and it has been nice driving around in a clean car. The red buds and magnolias are out as well as tulips here at the park. The large taller trees are starting to get some leaves too as well as a multitude of new buds. It is a very pleasant afternoon, clear to lightly clouded skies with the temperature in the mid-seventies with a light breeze out of the southwest. Also, this morning, on a hunch, I stopped at the Auto Zone after washing the car and they had in a new black collapsible trash ‘barrel’ about ten inches high and six to seven inches across for the middle of the back seat floor. There is a hole in the bucket in the top. Our blue plastic basket full of auto stuff has since been moved to the trunk. I have been looking for such a trash bucket since we bought the car a couple of years ago. Very exciting find.

Glad you are excited about the trash bucket, boy. Post when plausible. - Amorella

You are home and have a document with Angels from Wikipedia Offline. Let’s go through and eliminate what will not be needed in these Merlyn books. – Amorella

1817 hours. I am glad you are helping me edit I would most likely keep everything just in case.

In case of what, boy? – Amorella

         1818 hours. Good question. I don’t know.

         Yes, you do. – Amorella

1819 hours. In case anything else would ever be needed. I would rather keep the material than throw it out.

Even if it is not needed? – Amorella

1820 hours. Even if it is not needed now.

When would it ever be needed? – Amorella

1821 hours. Another good question. I could just look the article up again. Good point. In any case I’m glad you are going to delete what is not going to be needed.

         Take a break first. Amorella

1824 hours. You are a kind Betweener, Amorella. I like your bantering here. It makes you appear more human.

You are mistaken, boy. It is you who make me appear more human. How else would I communicate with you? – Amorella

1827 hours. I had not thought about this aspect.

         Post. - Amorella

You had twelve saltless soda crackers and made six cracker sandwiches with less than a dollop of peanut butter on each and a diet Vernors ginger ale for supper while you watched last night’s “Dig”. Carol washed clothes and is now ironing her own. You read the first paragraph on Angels, which you think is interesting but you cannot tell my reaction so you stopped. You will read one paragraph at a time, you will know when to erase. If you make a mistake I will correct it. You can spend too much time in debating your thoughts in these relatively simple procedures. – Amorella

Angel

From Wikipedia Offline

Angels, in a variety of religions, are regarded as spiritual beings. They are often depicted as messengers of God in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles and the Quran. The English word angel is derived from the Greek ἄγγελος (aggelos), a translation of מלאך (mal'akh) in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh); a similar term, ملائكة (Malāīkah), is used in the Qur'an.
The Hebrew and Greek words originally meant messenger, and depending on the context may refer either to a human messenger (possibly a prophet or priest, such as Malachi, "my messenger", but also for more mundane characters, as in the Greek superscription that the Book of Malachi was written "by the hand of his messenger" (ἀγγήλου)) or to a supernatural messenger, such as the "Mal'akh YHWH," who (depending on interpretation) is either a messenger from God, an aspect of God (such as the Logos), or God Himself as the messenger (the "theophanic angel.")
The term "angel" has also been expanded to various notions of spiritual beings found in many other religious traditions.
Other roles of angels include protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out God's tasks.
The theological study of angels is known as angelology. In art, angels are often depicted with wings; perhaps reflecting the descriptions in Revelation 4:6–8 — of the Four Living Creatures () and the descriptions in the Hebrew Bible — of cherubim and seraphim (the chayot in Ezekiel's Merkabah vision and the Seraphim of Isaiah). However, while cherubim and seraphim have wings in the Bible, no angel is mentioned as having wings.
Etymology

The word angel in English is a fusion of the Old English word engel (with a hard g) and the Old French angele. Both derive from the Latin angelus which in turn is the romanization of the ancient Greek ἄγγελος (angelos), "messenger", which is related to the Greek verb ἀγγέλλω (angellō), meaning "bear a message, announce, bring news of" etc. The earliest form of the word is the Mycenaean a-ke-ro attested in Linear B syllabic script.
Judaism

The Bible uses the terms מלאך אלהים (mal'akh Elohim; messenger of God), מלאך יהוה (mal'akh YHWH; messenger of the Lord), בני אלהים (b'nai Elohim; sons of God) and הקודשים (ha-qodeshim; the holy ones) to refer to beings traditionally interpreted as angels. Later texts use other terms, such as העליונים (ha'elyoneem; the upper ones).
Christian
. . . Philo of Alexandria identifies the angel with the Logos as far as the angel is the immaterial voice of God. The angel is something different than God . . ..
Thomas Aquinas (13th century) relates angels to Aristotle's metaphysics in his Summa contra Gentiles, Summa Theologica, and in De substantiis separatis, a treatise on angelology.
The New Testament includes many of interactions and conversations between angels and humans . . .. In Matthew 28:5 an angel speaks at the empty tomb, following the Resurrection of Jesus and the rolling back of the stone by angels. Hebrews 13:2 reminds the reader that they may "entertain angels unaware".
Islam

Angels (Arabic:, Malāʾikah; Turkish: Melek) are mentioned many times in the Qur'an and Hadith. Islam is clear on the nature of angels in that they are messengers of God.

Orndorff, the Notes of the Blog assert this material within the blog is for use in the Great Merlyn’s Ghost trilogy and is not constructed for any other purpose. I agree, this is definitely the point. You consider yourself mostly fiction, and as such, anything you have written or might write may be mostly fictional also. Do you agree or not? – Amorella

         2057 hours. I agree wholeheartedly.  – rho

All for tonight. Post. - Amorella
