Notes - setting / questions in new order / detached / fire dept.

Late morning. Everyone is at the pool. You were recovering from forty minutes of exercises. Saturday and Sunday you did your exercising in the pool – thirty minutes one day and forty-five the next. You plan on going to the pool this afternoon but once a day is enough from your perspective. - Amorella

1158 hours. The placid Gulf waters are green to bluish today after a good fifteen-minute thunder rain just before sunset last night. There are twenty-eight people on the beach from line of sight at the bedroom sliding door – again, all sizes, all shapes and ages due to the young families with kids and their grandparents. Kim and Paul rented a cabana (blue lounge chairs and a bright yellow expandable canvas top) for the week and are fully enjoying their stay. Guess who is just popping in the door? Where will we go for lunch? (1211) –Daiquiri Shak [Deck].

Mid-afternoon. The boys are asleep. Kim and Paul are below stretched out under the cabana. Carol is talking to Linda on the phone and you are listening to Pandora’s ‘relaxing piano music’. The clouds are few but up there, earlier they were not. Still, a beautiful day on Madeira beach – a lone sailboat to the north and heading south – lightning class or so it appears. – Amorella

1450 hours. Time to rephrase one of the ten questions.

First, we put them as they are in a proper heartansoulanmind order. I will do this as I see it from in here. You can then make changes if you like. – Amorella

1455 hours. This sounds good to me. I’m curious how this will be. In some ways these are odd questions. I chose them from the list but they are missing something of myself.

The questions were here before you, boy, so this is where we begin. – Amorella

1458 hours. That’s good, Amorella. I would have never thought to make the consideration. Of course they were here first. At least back to the ancient Greeks, pre-Aristotle and Plato. This is making me somewhat uncomfortable in the sense I am not normally this arrogant to think I can answer these questions at all.

I answer them, boy, not you. I used your heartansoulanmind though. – Amorella

1503 hours. I don’t know really know much of anything, Amorella

That’s the beauty of the exercise. Here is ‘your’ order. - Amorella

** **
1.  What is evidence?
2.  How do I define myself properly?
3.  Why is there something and not nothing?
4.  What is consciousness?
5.  Can you really experience anything objectively?
6.  Do we have free will?
7. What would a truly civilized society look like?
8.  What is the best economic system?
9.  What is the best moral system?
10.  What is the best political system?

** **
1509 hours. I will have to think on this order. I can see why I might put them in this order but I hadn’t consciously thought about what order I would end up with. Presently, I would reverse 1 and 2. And, I would reverse 4 and 5. I am not sure how to define ‘properly’ in 2. Number 5 might be better as 1. I am not sure why ‘truly’ is in number 7. I don’t like ‘best’ in 8, 9 and 10 and would rather substitute ‘practical’. Normally, I would begin with number 2 because it seems to me one should always begin with a definition. – rho

You think it would help if you had a photographic memory because of all the readings you have done over the years, but you do not; besides, heartansoulanmind are not photographic. Post. – Amorella

1521 hours. I would like to add something here, but I do not have the words.

         Later, my man. - Amorella

Early evening, before dusk. Linda and Jen stopped over for conversation for about two hours. You both had a good time as Owen and Brennan were still napping at least the first hour. Kim is in your shower. Paul and the boys are taking a bath. Supper is on the agenda but you are not so hungry as you and Carol both had Klondike bars along with Linda. – Amorella

1847 hours. I am tired and not so hungry – just as soon take a nap. Linda gave me a book to read, a mystery. I might just read it for the diversion of a professionally written fiction. I don’t know why observing the well-tanned naked breasts of a young woman lying thirty feet away and fifteen feet below me (as I sit in the bedroom) would disrupt my train of thought but it happens almost every time this sort of event occurs. I mean, what’s the point? I am not really that interested but it is as a small existential-like moment of a seemingly private perspective I suppose that’s it. How can one ever be objective and detached from this sort of experience?

The sun has set. You have a bit of light over the Gulf, but the electric is limited within the condo and its building because two birds blew a street circuit and Duke Energy will be out by ten to repair it. You have no kitchen, bath or A/C power and limited power in the two bedrooms. Post as you are able to do so. - Amorella

You had some excitement at the condominium building tonight. About seven two birds were mating up near the electric pole and touched a wire (according to two eyewitnesses). A few minutes later someone smelled burnt electrical wiring in the elevator lobby so Paul called the Madeira Fire Department. Suddenly as the fire department arrived Duke Energy decided to show up also. They also brought an emergency squad in case they were needed. Then about 2110 hours the electric was restored to the building and everyone out watching clapped and cheered the firemen and electric crew. The second the electric turned on the automatic smoke detector in your condo fried ‘on’. Luckily the firemen hadn’t left yet and one came up and pulled the plug (no one knew where it was as it is an automated system within the whole building). Fortunately it fried yours rather than turn all the alarms on. Now it is quiet. The boys are getting their bath for bed and the air conditioning is back on as well as the other appliances. – Amorella

2141 hours. Paul knows what to do. Some were debating calling 911 while once Paul smelled the burnt odor called the fire department and got the ball rolling, so to speak. I guess working in the OR builds you up to be ready to do what you have to do in any emergency or would be emergency. People were talking to him and he became the building spokesman in the moment. We are proud of our son-in-law and his training, expertise and handling the situation.

Paul has been trained well through the Cleveland Clinic and earlier through Ohio State University, Ohio University and Miami University. Post. - Amorella
