Yesterday was busy. The electrician comes
Monday to install two ceiling lights and the fan for the shower and tub. Joe
marked for four light but you have decided on two and a moisture-reducing
ceiling fan with no light. The master bath has been cleared of tile, tub and
shower. – Amorella

hours. I went to bed about seven, rested a couple of hours, then slept until
close to nine o’clock this morning. I’m still somewhat tired. Perhaps I am
coming down with something. Extra sleep often helps me fight the cold/flu bug
off. It is very pleasant without the bathroom crew (Joe and Jason) and our housecleaner
(Jill) not around today. Yesterday was busy and hectic.
After running errands and a very late lunch
at Penn Station you received a call from Kim asking if you forgot about your
sister Cathy and husband Tod were stopping by this afternoon. You rushed home
to find Cathy and Tod out of their car and waiting for you in the driveway.
After a good talk in the living room you both drove over to a restaurant near
Outback for supper after which they started home. – Amorella

hours. Tod and I had a very good time listening to Carol and Cathy reminiscing
about their days as roommates at Otterbein first semester of their freshman
year. Cathy got homesick for Tod who was at Cleveland State so she returned to
Middleburg Heights, your parents’ home for second semester. What a semester
they had – four years worth of common stories in that short time. It was so
good to see them laughing and carrying on telling those old stories Tod and I
have heard several times over the years. One was when Carol was walking to her
first class of the day and a squirrel dropped a load on her shoulder – she missed
the class. Lots of stories of being at the South or North Heidelberg beer fests
on a Friday and/or Saturday night. The night Carol and Cathy 'borrowed' my car for
fun and games at OSU. The early morning where Cathy placed her wet hose next to
the heater at Grandma Schick’s and caught the bathroom on fire. (I put it out
but it was on two walls when I went in.) We all stayed over because it was too
late for the girls to get back to their dorm the night before. You had to be
there of course. Most college-aged students have done similarly dumb things and
luckily survived intact at least psychologically. Anyway, I still love to see
and hear wife and sister sit and laugh the hours away. Cathy thinks the only
reason she went to Otterbein was so that Carol and I would meet, fall in love
and have 49 years of a successful marriage. Once that was done she could go
back to Cleveland, which she did, and marry Tod, of course, her boyfriend from
junior high on to today.
Post old man. It is a better day in that
Cathy and Tod stopped by for conversation and supper. – Amorella
