Notes - Amen

      Mid-afternoon. You are at the bank waiting for Carol. Yesterday and today have been very busy changing things in the bedroom, throwing old things out, bringing up and cleaning a nice, old rattan three shelf piece of furniture from the basement, reconditioning it and an old accent lamp, tearing out old service wiring put in the 1990's, redoing one of Kim's closets for your full use and putting four shelves along one side you had used in the bedroom. You have thrown away at least a bag of trash in the process but you are close to completing the timely project. You do not have your 'man cave' corner in the room anymore and the shelves are not filled with lots of old papers, books, and electronic clutter of one kind or another. You still have Carol's high bookcase and books to replace but it now looks like a bedroom with a pleasant area to read or write in the southeast corner. You have moved what electronic clutter you actually need to a huge bottom drawer of your chest-of-draws and the other is on a shelf or so you put in your closet. The shirts you had hung on the back of the door in the bedroom are now hanging inside the door in Kim's old closet. Carol has Kim's other closet mostly full. - Amorella

       1611 hours. Who would have thought two modestly paid retired teachers would have so much.

       You thought, "We are well blessed," but that didn't and doesn't sound right to you. - Amorella

       1612 hours. Having things doesn't seem like a blessing. I don't equate riches or wealth with a blessing. I don't think of life in itself as a blessing either. Life is an existence. Death is an existence. I really don't know what a blessing is either, come to think of it.

       1618 hours. I don't completely agree with the definition above either. Odd. "God's favor," I agree with in principle, but . . . here's the problem, if one is in G-D's favor how can she or he have free will? I cannot image G-D taking away one's free will to grant a blessing. The whole 'blessing' concept has an inherent illogic to it, particularly . . .

       Nighttime. You were interrupted earlier. Once home you rushed to get a couple letters mailed  and to get to Cincinnati Fiberoptics to pick up a new cable box for the bedroom. You had light suppers of what's-in-the-fridge, watched NBC News, "NCIS.LA" and "The This Old House Hour". Carol is reading in bed and you are in the black chair, southeast corner of the room with Jadah purring away while sitting on your right arm while you type. - Amorella

       2205 hours. We called Craig and Alta today confirming our June meeting at Madeira Beach and also getting some ideas for a four couple Fall trip. Tomorrow at noon we have a funeral to attend for our friend and neighbor Bob A.

       2214 hours. On the 'blessing' thinking above -- I don't really know what a G-D's blessing is or what it means. G-D is G-D, and now I let the thinking on blessing go. - rho
