Notes - trip to Pelham, Ga. / Sat. / evacuated

After noon. Yesterday at two-fourteen in the morning you met Linda and her son-in-law James in Pelham, Georgia. James had been staying with Linda in a borrowed car after Bill, her husband, and daughter Jean had left to return to home in south Tampa. It had taken Bill, Jean and Linda nine hours to reach and cross the state line and drop her off. Meanwhile, James had traveled an hour and a half to travel from the air force base near Valdosta, Georgia to meet them. Earlier James had planned to go to his and Jean's house in south Tampa near MacDill Air Force Base. He could not go because, at the time, no one could enter Florida because of the full scale evacuation route on I-75 (both sides were outward bound only at the time). You had left for Florida at o'clock Thursday afternoon to arrive in Pelham at two-fourteen Friday morning. Post. - Amorella

Mid-afternoon. Kim called suggesting that Carol and Linda might like to come to the 'Parade of Homes' with her and Paul on Monday for ideas. About an hour ago Carol and Linda arrived home from shopping and lunch at the Blue Ash bagel store. They brought you half a tuna sandwich plus two cookies. Linda is baking an apple pie. You will be going up to Kim and Paul's Monday morning before the 'Parade' opens. Still tired, you are upstairs about to try a nap. Post. - Amorella

2314 hours. Bill and Jean drove to Jen's apt. tonight for the duration (two shelters are in her area. Houses are buttoned up. Nothing more can be done. We are very happy they made the decision to go. Jen's place is in north Tampa and on much higher ground.

You are still concerned because they are family but thankful they had the good sense to leave south Tampa near MacDill. Post. - Amorella
