Early evening.
Tomorrow morning you are having an MRI at Bethesda North. Today your sister
Cathy sent you a note about Kenny Zarbaugh having died yesterday in Delaware
not too far from his home in Lewis Center. Last year his daughter died suddenly
and a week later his wife died from stress and sorrow. She was the daughter of
Aunt Betty, Grandma Freeman Schick's, sister. You first met Kenny as family
when much younger. He was a long time coach at Otterbein College and you had
him for physical education and health for most to the first two years at
Otterbein. You never knew him not to be kind and humane. Carol remembers him to
be much like your Popo Orndorff in temperament, i.e. kind, friendly and humane.
You have decided to go up to Thursday's gathering at Moreland's funeral home
rather than Friday's funeral. Carol has other appointments on Thursday. Early
afternoon on Saturday you will be returning with Carol to Kim and Paul's so she
and Kim can have some time shopping. Tonight, after Carol finishes one of her
TV shows you will have supper and watch the national news. - Amorella
1901 hours. We did have a pleasant and leisurely lunch at
Smashburgers mid-afternoon. The whole day has been relaxing; the way I once
envisioned retirement to be like but mostly never is. This is not a complaint.
We keep ourselves busy doing what we enjoy. We drove over to the east side of
the high school, the city park with lakes and watched the 'super' moon for a
bit; very cool. Today it has been
cloudy and it is supposed to rain in about an hour or two. By Thursday it is
supposed to snow but I don't know how much. (I feel like I'm talking to myself
here.)
That's because you dropped me out of the
conversation. I am your first audience. - Amorella
1909 hours. That's true.
