Notes

Up early as Jadah the cat wanted to play and be fed. You are tired and ready for a nap now that it is shortly after seven. Yesterday was family filled with the cap at a short visit with Aunt Patsy and Uncle Ernie that last until eight-thirty, then you headed home. About fifteen or sixteen were at the reunion. Owen is crawling and looked quite dashing in his checkered pants, white shirt, and checkered short billed cap, like all he needed were a set of golf clubs. And, you had to admit outloud that he does have some of your facial features, at least the ones you had at a year, only he’s six months. Family has been saying this all along but you disagreed on the comparison. It was good to see everyone and your niece, Jennifer, took you to White Castle for an early supper before you dropped her off at Graeter’s where Carol and her sister Linda, Jenn’s mother, were waiting. That’s when you stopped by Aunt Patsy and Uncle Ernie’s to drop off chapter five. It was about five-thirty so you spent three hours visiting, which you really didn’t mind doing. Always good and interesting conversation at the Ernsberger’s. Always learn something new about old Westerville and your grandparents, both the Schick’s and the Orndorff’s as well as the Freeman’s and the Bookman’s. And, even yourself as Aunt Patsy said that at four and five you were asking about what the stars were made of and how and why were they out there. Uncle Ernie said his early childhood thoughts were on storms and why one cloud would have lightning and another cloud would not. He ended up majoring in meteorology in college – almost like both were examples of pre-programmed (unconscious) sustaining interests in the world. He even wondered aloud about whether the Dead had already begun to reappear in newborns, something you had not considered, and though it was pretty far fetched, he laughed and said, “You never know, could be.” It was a teasing interest for you and you responded in kind and replied, (something to the effect) “anything’s possible”.  Aunt Patsy’s first car, the first she could remember, was an Essex touring car, and Uncle Ernie’s was a Model T roadster. Uncle Ernie’s first car was the motor, frame and wheels of a Model T. He said he drove it around sitting on the gas tank getting parts from the auto yard to rebuild the rest of the car by hand. Aunt Patsy said their (your grandparents’) white Essex had a canvass top and the windows snapped into place. You could remember your grandfather talking about his 1915 Indian motorcycle but it was before he married your grandmother. Aunt Patsy never knew about that. You always liked hearing stories about how things were before you were born. Later, dude, go take your nap. You might as well post now. – Amorella.

You watched ‘Lie to Me’ and ‘The Closer’ and checked your email and found a note from Doug that we can use. Post it here.
Dick,
According to some interpretations of quantum mechanics the future wave is mixed or entangled with the present wave so when we look at Schroeder's cat we actually invoke the future as well. In other words the entangled nature of quantum mechanics says the future also determines the present. So are we living in the present, past or future? Does this mean the future has already happened or the possibility of the future is to happen?
Doug

Doug has a good couple questions. If you count by the millionth of a second or so I don’t think human beings can consciously ‘know’ the past, present or future. It is too fast for consciousness to take hold. We can only take in a few frames per second and I suppose the average is the number that are used in films in regular standard time. But yesterday, today and tomorrow are easier for us. Sometimes though we make an observation that is snapped into our consciousness and it may only be a millionth of a second, but the picture is frozen in our memories.
In the context of the books the focuses of Merlyn’s dream segments are caught in English grammar on numbered pages. Thus the dreams are artificially timed. In context with the writing of Merlyn’s dreams certainly the possibility of the future chapters of the books is already determined by Amorella (and/or myself unconsciously). In this sense I wonder what ‘element’ of quantum mechanics Amorella plays? She is the ‘thought gatherer and director’ I am the delivery vehicle of the thought. I think an analogy can be created here.
If light is as a thought, then the written words (by Amorella and/or myself) are a reflection of the light, not the light itself. If Amorella is solely a personification of my own unconscious creation I must first unconsciously turn the light/thought on. If she is even a ‘shadow’ of an outside myself determination then I cannot stop her delivery system (my unconscious self) until it reaches my consciousness. Once it reaches my consciousness (written words) then I can chose to keep or erase the said words.
In some ways this is similar to my early childhood interest in astronomy, and interest I have had most of my life. Was the interest predetermined by the genes, the environment or both. I have chosen to stay interested some sixty two years. The potential of the future (in myself) is always there as long as I am living. Human beings are the future, the present, and the past wrapped up into ourselves, in our inherited genes, our consciousness, and our future potential minute by minute so to speak. Each of us is as a quantum entity.
These are your present thoughts on the subject. Send to Doug and see whether he agrees or not. We can work this (consciously into chapter six). If we do, then this began when a former student, Amy T., sent you a note on August 1 about “Scientists Take Quantum Steps Toward Teleportation” on ‘NPR’.  Which you read and sent to Doug and he replied to in the note. The entanglement (of thought) is caused by three human quantum elements: Amy T., Doug G., and yourself. Following your logic this is how I respond to it. From this perspective when I earlier mentioned that every human being who has ever lived has effected the present human life, this is what I am talking about beyond the obvious genetics. Post.– Amorella.
