Notes - business & remembrance

I woke up a couple of times during the night – I remembered how it was – that experience in 1988. A psychological experience I have suppressed. I don’t consider it a blessing, a relief, yes, but not a blessing. I am not sure what a blessing is anyway. I thought seriously about erasing yesterday’s material, the latter part. I wonder how this will effect the writing, or if I will write at all – those were other thoughts. Writers sometimes have a mystery in them, the engine that churns heartansoulanmind. This was not an initial experience though, there was a lot of inner churning, some very early on. Again, it goes back to a miss-wiring in the brain. I am tired of writing about all this. Nothing comes from it and it sounds to me like I’m whining about being on Earth in the first place. We are all here and there is not much to do but to make the best of it.

Go about your business, boy, and I'll go about mine. Post. – Amorella.

Late afternoon. Lunch earlier at Max and Erma’s off I-275 in Sharonville. Up to VOA mall at Hallmark to pick up a birthday and sympathy card. One of Carol’s parents' friends, Phil Lange, died last month at Sun City Center. He always treated Kim and Sharon well when they were little. He would prime the golf course pond behind their house for fish, then take the girls out with their poles and lo and behold in minutes they would each have caught a good sized fish which was then thrown back in. He also took care of the community classroom instruction for thirty years of so. They even declared a Phil Lange Day in Sun City Center, Florida. He was a professor for many years at Columbia University before he retired. You and he got Scotch Hammond (Carol’s father) to teach a variety of community courses. Futures Studies was one of them, Science Fiction another. Many fun times with the Lange’s. You always enjoyed the discussions when he was around. Most of the people the Hammonds knew at SCC had been  higher education or State Department employees. Always interesting when there were social gatherings, as there were in those days.

We did have good times at the Hammonds and we found ourselves there several times during the year. Spring breaks when Carol and I had the same schedules, summers (for three or four weeks) plus a week or two at Christmas break. Very worldly friends as most worked with State in the higher education field. Lots of experiences, lots of stories with an international flavor. At least Carol and I had lived in Brazil and traveled South America for two years so, though younger, we still could blend in with their social groups. Who am I fooling here. I could blend in more comfortably than otherwise. Many of those people knew Carol from when they lived in Korea, Vietnam or Washington. It was an enriching experience for me. The Hammonds were always an elevating experience. I always have looked up to her mother and father. They were good, kind people who died of cancer within a month of each other. They died in 1992, Phil Lange, PhD, died last month at the age of 96, his wife, Irene, died several years ago.

I was rude earlier, Amorella. Sorry. I do consider myself to have been blessed with good fortune. Sometimes it is difficult living with something you don’t feel you did anything to deserve.

Point taken as to its truthfulness. This can be exploited in the story. More than a few people have a difficult time with good fortune. Guilt rises up from unpolished memories. In the stories the Dead have a problem with this too. We can explore this theme in this chapter seven. We go back to what was brought out in the beginning of the books. Each of the Dead needs a friend or two to better sort out herorhis net moral worth, so to speak. No one is spiritually resurrected alone. Remember, even ‘Mother’ was with ‘friendly people’ who were not of Earth first. Spiritually, the marsupial humanoids  are of her kind as they have similar heartsansoulsanminds. Allowances are always made in these books, orndorff. Your being the designated legal author is example enough. – Amorella.

That is the sort of comment I am more comfortable with, Amorella. A well-taken point well-received. – rho

You just arrived home. A good time to post. – Amorella.
