Up, relaxing bath with jets and bubbles. Breakfast and the paper. Now mid-morning. All during the bath and out of the blue an old song’s lyrics played over and over in your mind, “freedom is another name for nothing left to lose”.
“Me and Bobby McGee”
Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose,
And nothin ain’t worth nothin but it’s free,
Feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues,
And buddy, that was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

Checking online I see I erred substituting “name” for “word”. I had the melody right though. And, I took the liberty of correcting a bit of the punctuation from online, and perhaps too much liberty in the quoting even though I give credit where it is due. I think of all these quotations in the blog as daily commentary from the mind. Seems harmless enough to me. The blog’s free just like freedom is, at least like freedom of the mind is.
You are remembering the words of your Grandma Mae Freeman-Schick, “You get an education, boy, and nobody can take it from you.” Or, something to that effect. You caught the drift even if you don’t remember the exact words. Post. - Amorella
Household chores, dusting, furnace filter, etc. Used the treadmill. Carol is off to BART, Blue Ash Retired Teachers’ monthly luncheon in a bit. No doubt what the talk will be about as S.B. Five passed by one vote partly due to political trickery. Even the Enquirer was upset with how it was passed. I think they have been pretty much down and out Republican since their inception a thousand years ago when the city was the ‘porktropolis’ of the Midwest. There are over ten thousand of us in the state system that do not qualify for Medicare Part A because the state promised us that. We pay for Part B. So, if they renege on healthcare we have to find our own supplement for Part A. This state politically does not care about public education. But, people will build in excellently ranked state school districts like Wyoming, Indian Hill and Mason, because it keeps their property values up (among other things). Wyoming and Indian Hill are even nationally ranked. Justice and the American way are a mite like the Superman comic, partly fiction (the comic is real enough). I know this. Everyone with a brain knows this. But, people have too much to lose in demanding a fair and just system, even here in this Republic. I am, like now, embarrassed by our two-sidedness. Carol and I love the new television show “Harry’s Law” (not well received in Boston). Each episode focuses on justice and social fairness one way or another. The setting is Cincinnati and the cases (although fiction) could easily be from this region of the country. Okay, I’m done.
The flare up above is about ‘justice and fairness’. These are human attributes not Nature’s, at least in these stories they are.
Justice: 1 a : the maintenance or administration of what is just especially by the impartial adjustment of conflicting claims or the assignment of merited rewards or punishments b : JUDGE c : the administration of law; especially : the establishment or determination of rights according to the rules of law or equity;
2 a : the quality of being just, impartial, or fair b (1) : the principle or ideal of just dealing or right action (2) : conformity to this principle or ideal : RIGHTEOUSNESS c : the quality of conforming to law
3 : conformity to truth, fact, or reason : CORRECTNESS
3 : conformity to truth, fact, or reason : CORRECTNESS

The focus here is on 2 a and b. “the quality of being just, impartial, or fair; b (1): the principle or ideal of just dealing or right action.” As you do not presently observe this in the recent action on S.B. Five by Ohio state politicians, you are angry that they do not abide by this simple definition of justice. This clarifies your anger. Do you feel better now?
Strangely, less frustrated in my thoughts. Very odd.
Part of your anger was directed at yourself for not being able to put this in a reasonable perspective. – This is what I do for you, orndorff. This is one of my objectives. Post. – Amorella.
You took a break while Carol is gone and watched an Australian comedy on Sundance on demand, checked your email and read a note from Doug that he too has similar social concerns. Post your note even though you are reluctant to do so, in fact, that is all the more reason. – Amorella
"Thanks for you comment, Doug. Glad to see others such as yourself are concerned. I really strongly feel, deep down, that our humanity should take us beyond the 'bottom line'. Some debt for health, education, and welfare we ought to learn to forgive. We are naturally built as social creatures and to deny this is a form of blasphemy against our better natures. Dick"
I am surprised I had the resolve to write this, and if it were anyone other than Doug I probably would not have gone through with it. I mean it truly. We ought to find a way to resolve such social debt. It is easy in a fiction of marsupials, but in real life, there would be humility built into such a resolve. For one it would be an admittance than we, as a species, cannot be bought by money, that we can use money for our social betterment as a species. This is not common sense, this is the heartansoulanmind talking.
It is your heartansoulanmind talking, orndorff. This series of books is working through this particular problem in real human time. This is another objective of mine, to see you understand the nature of your anger about how this world of your species is. Now, you are more conscious of this. You see it through the eyes of the Dead who are still social and have no need of economics of an earthly nature. This does not mean there is no economics though. Give yourself the time and you can work it all out of your head. Post. Later, dude. – Amorella.
It is embarrassing to be so mind naked.
You pay the Piper, boy, just like I do. – Amorella.
