I see from the paper a new film is out, “The Adjustment Bureau”. The New York Times review is excellent in writing and gives an excellent for the film. The reviewer calls it “ a witty mix science fiction metaphysics and old fashioned fluttery romance.” This piece of cinema is adapted from a Philip K. Dick short story. At first I thought there were many parallels with the Merlyn books, but now I don’t think that’s the case. It seems I have a bit of avarice for desiring to write something unique.
You caught yourself sliding into an ancient sin. Very funny. And, in the process, at first you thought it was hubris but quickly adjusted downward to the next sin in the matter of fact Medieval lineup.
I want to see the film no question about that. I enjoy such themes and plots – good, and hopefully thoughtful, entertainment like “Inception” is. I think I should not concern myself with the uniqueness of the Merlyn series and concentrate more on completing the works first.
I detect a bit of cultural guilt here, boy. Guilt is what it is, but cultural guilt is not necessarily personal guilt. The Dead have to learn to separate such things, to filter out what a particular culture demands or doesn’t demand. This is similar to your experience with ‘justice’ yesterday. Once you thought it out and the definition made it clearer, you felt better. This example on greed is similar. You have learned to wash such sins “down the drain” so to speak because your humanity is built for self-forgiveness of such things. The unwritten rules of the Dead are built on such aspects. When one has forgiven herorhis self then a greater forgiveness can be granted if required. No one knows where this line is in the books, and neither do you or anyone else, boy. You, as the bystander, either let the thought of fairness go or it ‘weights’ you down. Pretty simple, actually. Unwritten rules for the Dead usually are. Something to think about. Post. – Amorella.
Early afternoon and Carol is readying the 2010 taxes for delivery to your consultants later today. You completed the task of adding to documents, one for each year of the blog. It presently adds up to 5.5 MB of total information on Encounters In Mind (photos included). You are pleased you opted for the four GB of working memory in your MBAir as you can do an easy fast scroll through the whole year of over a thousand pages.
Evening. I like the concept of Unwritten Rules of the Dead (in the Merlyn’s Mind series). How many are applicable in the books? As you have shared this one are there others that are relevant that you would share? I love the fact that the rules are general and specific at the same time. No need for amendments (or so it appears). I love the simplicity.
Nothing carved in stone, orndorff, but that is the point in this day and age. It would be better if you stumbled upon a rule as you did this one. Make a separate list if you like. I’ll help you with this as we go along. All for today, old man. Tomorrow a day trip to Columbus for a ninetieth birthday celebration for Carol's Aunt Catherine. Enjoy the weekend. Post. – Amorella.
