Craig and Alta B. took you and Carol to lunch at Bob Evans on Mason-Montgomery Road and left for a couple days with friends in Columbus before heading to Chicago to see Eric, Mary Kay and the boys; then, in two or three weeks they return to Tucson. You had several major conversations on trips-to-take and presently everyone is pretty much in agreement on an October trip to Pigeon Forge, staying at the four bedroom cabin you and Carol shared at Jean and Bob’s wedding last summer. Jim and Jeanne would be coming up to Pigeon Forge (only a few miles north of Gatlinburg, Tennessee) from Georgia. Sharon and Bill would be coming from Virginia and basically Craig and Alta would arrive at your house (for the trip together) from Illinois, as they will already be there for the month. One of the highlights will be a trip to the Biltmore at Ashville, North Carolina and perhaps a drive down to Hendersonville, NC not too far from the South Carolina state line. Craig and Alta suggested to the two of you a trip to Australia but as the four of you visited your local AAA (where you had set up other overseas trips) you discovered overseas air travel was quite a bit more expensive than it was when you visited Italy. Alta still wants to return to London, Winchester, and take the Chunnel to Paris as the next trip to the continent.
It has been a good and busy couple of day with dear and old friends. Friends are a fortune, indeed.
Late dusk. Friends always hold their interest, boy. Post. - Amorella
