Late afternoon. Another busy day with Brennan but another hour picnic in the park also as Brennan was again soundly asleep in the back seat. Paul is home early, Carol is feeding Brennan and the B-man now has his stand in jumper-in-prep-for-walker out for the first time.
Yesterday afternoon I ‘dictated’ three paragraphs that you promptly erased. Why did you do this? – Amorella
I was angry but I don’t know what about. No doubt I was ‘lecturing’ (being didactic). I really don’t remember the theme other than upon rereading I felt it was improper.
And, you promised yourself not to be angry at particular modern cultural human behaviors in this blog? – Amorella
Yes.
Why, when you know it is a promise you cannot keep if you are going to continue to be honest? – Amorella
I don’t know.
I was angry also; however I was speaking for myself. – Amorella
I don’t want to remember what it was about, and I don’t. Besides, being sincere (in anger or otherwise) is not necessarily relevant to heartansoulanmind. The satire in my books is supposed to show my anger. However, Swift was much better at satire and his works still hold true for me in today’s world. So, if people wonder what my satire is about without reading my books sheorhe can read a far, far better writer, Jonathan Swift instead, particularly his essay, “A Modest Proposal”. Read that first, and then make your choice as to what other work you would like to read.
You sound as if you are making a class assignment. – Amorella
I do, don’t I. I am thinking about the classroom, the many former students, as my old comrade at Escola Graduada de Sao Paulo (1970-1972), Tito Balducci, tagged me an old photo or two of me from his album on Facebook. Former students and friends have ‘liked’ and made ‘comments’. I placed a ‘like’ on many comments later and stated that my ‘like’ meant, in most cases, a ‘modest and polite’ thank you. I had a different look at twenty-eight than I do at sixty-nine.
Post the photo as you have had your beard forty years now. That’s a pretty good record. – Amorella
That’s what the paragraphs were about – Biblical allusions and Original Sin and Adam and Eve and the like.
Just place the photo of the forty-year old unshaven though trimmed beard hanging from your chin then post. - Amorella
Escola Graduada: 1972
As you cannot come up with a comment, title this 'no comment'. - Amorella
You created your own supper this evening, a bowl of heated wieners and baked beans. Everyone else had leftovers. You want to set up a discussion here about yesterday to clear the air, so to speak; however by doing so you will bring up a subject you do not wish to address. – Amorella
True.
You see a lesson in this, do you not? – Amorella
Thinking clearly takes more concentration than it appears. It is little wonder than people, such as myself, prefer not to be caught in such a circumstance.
What are you thinking? – Amorella
I am thinking that being dead in the books is not much different. Clear thinking is the operative.
You can’t have a second rebellion without concluding a first. – Amorella
You were angry over my concern after concluding (the other day) that the concept of Original Sin would not be a part of this fictional rebellion. Your anger appeared to be directed towards those who might think the Merlyn book, The Rebellion, is blasphemous, that is, The Rebellion, is a modern satire of the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and Satan’s deception of Eve and Adam. You said something to the effect that this book is in no way connected with the Jewish, Christian or Moslem Holy Scriptures and religions in terms of satire; and that if anyone thinks the book is sheorhe ought to have herorhis head examined. – rho
I said it better and more forcibly, but the above paragraph is a nutshell version to which I now put my name. – Amorella
I don’t remember what my subsequent anger was about.
Your anger is not the subject here. You erased my words without asking permission. You have always asked first. – Amorella
I erred. I do not understand the importance however. No one could possibly think there are any intended Biblical allusions in the books or notes. How would I ever conjure up such a story and then (in intent) speak this directly to an Angel upon being asked, “And who are you?” I would never knowingly show any disrespect for the human concept of G---D. It is not in my nature.
Indeed, it is not. Title this section "Biblical Allusions". Post. - Amorella
