Notes - plus, 'being socially correct'

Late morning. Plenty to do. Begin with exercises, boy. – Amorella

You had a late lunch at Smashburgers and are thinking about taxes as by seventy-and-a-half you have to pay taxes on tax deferred IRA contributions made since 1982. Earlier you did your exercises for thirty minutes and then spent an hour or so working in the yard, mostly gathering brush and branches to the street for city pickup later this week.

The easiest way to find all those early IRA’s is to go back over our yearly taxes since 1982. The problem is that one only has to save these for seven years. So, what to do? Ask IRS what they charge for early copies of our annual federal statements (for IRA contributions) since 1982. Seems simple enough.

1711 hours. Carol is going through the records and found our tax statements back to 1991. Unbelievable. I asked to help search but she is afraid I will lose something. Now, I would be upset if I never misplaced stuff; alas, that isn’t the case.

One of my former students Jay N. sent me a video on consciousness but so far I haven’t been able to play much of it. However, the focus is on reality and consciousness. This gives me renewed interest in what reality really is. I need to see the you-tube below:

My metaphysical interests are slowly returning. Plus, today I saw a great photograph of Mars from the Rover. Sparks my spirit, I’ll tell you. I enhanced and straightened the NASA photograph on iPhoto and now have it on my desktop when I want it. Sand drifts off the mountains. So cool!!

This August day is running out on this region of the planet. You and Carol caught up with a few programs – very pleasant relaxing at home. You finally downloaded “Pages” on your iPad and have added this and other notes but you have not fooled with iCloud yet, though you looking forward to the prospect.

Earlier you had a ‘flash’ of several faces in your mind. People you do not know or at least could not recognise. – Amorella

Contacts – human contact – anywhere I can find it I suppose. These ‘flashes’ happen in an instant with seemingly nothing conscious as the trigger. Consciousness is one thing though and imagination is another. Consciousness is reality but imagination is not. Intuition may be reality and it is played off both fields. Who does the ‘playing’ that’s what I want to know, and beyond that, what is the name of the game? If the Dead remain ‘human’ how can they deal with this? How does Merlyn know who he is, when, like a chameleon he is subtly changed by an environment that is witnessed and experienced within the whirlwind of the same instant? It is all epistemological.

Epistemology: (from Greek epistēmē, meaning "knowledge, understanding", and logos, meaning "study of") is the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope (limitations) of knowledge It addresses the questions:
▪                What is knowledge?
▪                How is knowledge acquired?
▪                To what extent is it possible for a given subject or entity to be known?
▪
Much of the debate in this field has focused on analyzing the nature of knowledge and how it relates to connected notions such as truth, belief, and justification. One view is the objection that there is very little or no knowledge at all— skepticism. The field is sometimes referred to as the theory of knowledge.

Merlyn cannot know what knowledge is or how it is acquired, nor is it possible for him to know the extent that he is known. What is the metaphysical sense of ‘consciousness’ that does not deal with ‘instances’? Is it possible to have a greater consciousness and to know this? This question appears to be akin to ‘understanding, that is, having the same selected knowledge of someone who has a broad-ranged definition of a 500 or a 1000 IQ. How does anyone ‘know/understand’ the IQ of a being who has a higher IQ (example only)?

Are you referring to myself, boy? – Amorella

No, but certainly you come to mind, particularly if you were ‘alien’. Imagination, it seems to me, can take a person only so far. Imagination is always less than what reality is. Always.

         Your point? – Amorella

I don’t know how to get into the human head of Merlyn when he is an environment that, living or dead, I cannot know. How can I convey Merlyn to an audience of living consciousness? To myself, first?

Authenticity is unimaginable, is your point. – Amorella

         Yes, it is.

The same can be said when you reverse the situation. Let’s say I am truly a Betweener, how can I, Amorella, communicate with a being or a species for that matter who is dimensionally different than myself?

         “Dimensionally different” is polite.

You set a good example of ‘lost in translation’ here. "Dimensionally different" culturally automatic becomes  your socially correct connotation, boy, not mine. Look from my perspective for a change. Post. - Amorella
