Sunday morning breakfast at First Watch and before noon you are at Horseshoe Lake Park in the City of Shaker Heights sitting in the car with a sleeping Brennan while the others are down by the lake feeding the ducks. Paul is stationed at the Clinic, on call for the next twenty some hours. This afternoon you and Carol are returning to Mason with Jadah the cat.
I just had a Jennifer treat from On the Rise. We did not know they were open on Sunday. They will have theirs upon their return. I am still in a funk. Part of this is from turning seventy. When we were young we thought seventy was pretty much a death sentence as far as grandparents were concerned. The exception was Grandma [Elizabeth Mae Freeman] Schick who lived from 1889 to 1981. Mom and Dad lived into their eighties though. Carol’s Mom and Dad, unfortunately died of cancer at seventy-five and seventy-six respectively.
You are at Kim and Paul’s; Owen has a choice of a nap or lunch. Brennan is in the jumper. When you were commenting on Owen’s ‘terrible two’ ways Kim reminded you that Owen, in such obstinate circumstance, reminds her of her dear father who is in his seventies. Yesterday morning Paul took a couple of candid photos of Owen playing with your beard. One was a classic pose and you enjoyed it; however, I like the other one, that shows youthful silliness from an otherwise seventy year old. You are a bit embarrassed about having a good time. Too bad. Post, anyway. – Amorella
Come on, Amorella. I look like an old fool. I don’t even know why I laughed. I didn’t know Paul was taking either photo.
You aren’t always an old stick-in-mud, boy. Fess up.
You were home in plenty of time to settle and watch the closing ceremonies of the Thirtieth Modern Olympic Games in London.
The closing ceremony was inspiring and hopeful for the young and old. London to Rio, I am looking forward to it.

As am I, orndorff. - Amorella
