Today is Carol's birthday and she slept in while you did the morning
chores. Busy day. Lunch at Cracker Barrel because Carol didn't want to dress
up. You had dessert at Graeter's afterwards, two cupcakes and because it was
her birthday she had earned a free turtle sundae, whip cream with a cherry on
top. You split the sundae and each had a Graeter's cupcake. Shortly after you
arrived home flowers came to the door from Kim, Paul, Owen and Brennan. Carol
was both surprised and please. Then, having forgot twice, you drove off to
Hallmark to buy her a card and you also picked up one for Valentine's Day. No
real supper but half a ham and cheese and sweet pickles. You watched a DVRed
"Castle" and "Blue Bloods". You are planning on going to
bed early even though you had two catnaps during the day. Also, the postman
brought by your Motor Trend and Automobile and you read them
both. No writing until now. Carol has also begun a new book.
It was a busy but fun day. I think Carol had a pretty good birthday. I
didn't work on Pouch-10 at all.
No. I can work tomorrow. Besides, I am somewhat tired. I read a good
article in Automobile about the EPA fuel mileage tests and the problems with
accuracy, particularly in the hybrid models. I have (intuitively) come to the
conclusion based on what I have read from people who actually drive those cars
that I can drop seven to eight miles off the EPA averages. I know a Prius can
get 49 to 50 m/g. I am not so sure about the Ford Fusion at 47 m/g. Real world
drivers are reporting 39 and 40. Plus, the two Prius drivers I know personally
say there are a lot of variable (physics) involved but their lows, especially
in winter can sometimes be 41 or 42. They aren't complaining, and I would not
complain either. Electric batteries in cold weather are not so efficient. It
was a good article. We are waiting to see how the Honda Accord hybrid is.
Honda's past reliability is a big plus in our book, but then we are old retired
people.
Last night waking up in bed you had an idea
of what comes after "Suddenly" in Pouch-10. - Amorella
That's right, I did, at least it was a guess, but I went back to sleep
and forgot what it is. I wasn't even thinking about it now. I still don't
remember what it was. I remember thinking, no, that can't be, that won't
happen, something of that sort. It's all a blank. It was about getting the
plane into Ship. Friendly put them to sleep as before and Ship pulled them in
or turned over and the Cessna drops into an opening. I don't know. I think
though there would be some trust in Friendly, after all they let her fly the
plane back from Put-in-Bay. They parted on good terms as far as I can tell.
But you weren't there were you, when they
parted? - Amorella
No. I wasn't. It was inferred that they did because Pyl thought she
might have heard from them, either Pyl or Blake. The plane's length is a little
over 28 feet and its wingspan is about 37 feet. It is just short of 10 feet in
height and empty weight is 2300 and some pounds. Maximum take off weight is
4000 pounds. I can't remember the size of Ship. I want to say a disk 600 to 900
feet across, two or three football fields. I am sure I have these stats
somewhere. Tomorrow though. Carol's already asleep, I'm going to bed. (2217)
