Notes - silly foolishness & arrogance / deal with it / simulator

Early afternoon. You are still reeling from the anger you displayed on Facebook last night before bed. - Amorella

         I am.

You decided to leave Facebook for a week because you grew tired of the hypocrisy, anger, hate and logical fallacies displayed in placards acknowledged by Facebook friends. - Amorella

I did. No Facebook until next Sunday.

What makes you most angry with yourself is that you mentioned your classroom and politeness and kindness to others. -Amorella

This is true. Facebook isn't a classroom and I am no longer the instructor. I was being as impolite as I saw the placards so I banished myself for my own abrupt impoliteness. I enjoy seeing the family photos of former students and friends and those placards (most pro gun rights and hate Obama) interrupt the pace. I cannot understand how rounds and rounds of ammo in a quick shooting gun has anything to do with hunting and home self protection. No hunter I have ever known (and I have known a number of them) would ever think of shooting an elk or deer or anything with what amounts to a machine gun. In fact some of them rather enjoyed hunting animals with bow and arrow.

What bothers you most is the lack of reason used in many placard arguments, does it not? - Amorella

Yes, and I got caught up in my anger and arrogance, and my own lack of reason in the process. There is too much human 'noise' (shouting). So, I decided to do my part and keep my mouth shut for a week.

To you the seven deadly sins, anger being one, are mostly a waste of self-energy. - Amorella

I am a lazy man and do not like to expend too much energy (slothfulness) so that is my rationale. Pretty bad, huh?

Are you suddenly seeing some humor in this? - Amorella

I am. Our species is full of silliness, and I am right there somewhere in the pack.

         Post. - Amorella

I don't think of the seven deadly sins so much as weakness in human character.

You don't need to explain yourself to me, boy. I know who you are and where you are coming from in your thoughts. - Amorella

What can I do about this?

Think of the seven strengths in human nature. - Amorella

Humility is supposed to be first.

Add to the post. And, while you are at it, be thankful for your arrogance and anger. Be thankful also that you have found a way to control it within yourself without doing yourself or others much harm. - Amorella

It doesn't seem right to add this, Amorella. I am propping myself up with such words. I don't wish to be highlighted. Self serving praise sounds like the devil's playground to me. I don't think of you as a demon I am hobnobbing around with.

You give your opinion and I give mine. - Amorella

I don't have to agree or accept your opinion.

No, you don't, but you will give me my due.

Out of politeness. This is your blog also.

         Good. Post. - Amorella

I don't know how to title this selection.

How about, nature of the beast. - Amorella

         You sound a little harsh.

          So are you. - Amorella

This is back to my old battle between politeness and honesty.

Too bad, boy. Deal with it. - Amorella

1729 hours. I had a nap then while working up the landing on Google Earth (eyeballing), I discovered it has a built in simulator which appears to work, so I drove to the store and bought myself a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick which is supposed to work on Macs and PCs. The simulator has two built in planes, one a Cirrus SR22. It is a single engine (non-turbo) four-seat plane, very popular pretty much like the Cessna 400 with fixed gear, low-wing, with a turbo-prop. It should do for simulation. I am mostly looking for visual points on the way to the airport. Originally though Blake's 210 is supposed to land on a deserted township road. Either way I will still (hopefully) have some sense of the flight operation in Blake's mind.

Remember, orndorff, Ship is bringing the plane in not Blake. - Amorella

How is this going to work, Amorella?

Set up your joystick and get a sense of it on the simulator, then if it works when you are at Geneva-on-the-Lake you will be coming out of the clouds and attempt to restart the engine. Ashtabula will be up ahead. Pyl will say Ashtabula or Indiana County Airport, to which Blake will say Ashtabula, which is closer, and to the southeast. He will appear to be coasting, as that is how Ship wants it to appear. Before Ashtabula can detect him visually Ship will drop down directly above and cloak the Cessna with blackenot. We will stop when Blake realizes the 210 is not being seen and they still have no radio contact. Later, dude. Post. - Amorella

2251 hours. The joystick did not work. Tomorrow it goes back. I have been attempting to learn to fly using the touch pad but am not doing well. I wish there were a free flight simulator or that I had an older PC. I am missing my yoke and pedals. It has been years. Sim flying was so much fun about twelve years ago. I flew all the way to Sao Paulo from Chicago for book one about the turn of the century.

Enough for tonight, boy. You can check it out tomorrow at MicroCenter when you take the joystick back to Best Buy. Post. -Amorella
