Notes - settled in a nest / Dead 13 intro

Washington's birthday. During breakfast Carol, upon reading the editorial page of the Enquirer mentioned some public schools are classified "low wealth" schools (or something to that akin). Orwell flashed to mind and his famous "War is Peace" statement in 1984.

0956 hours. Corruptibility of language becomes corruptibility of thought.

Yesterday you were reading a piece in EDGE:

ENCAPSULATED UNIVERSES
A Conversation with Lera Boroditsky

Think about it this way. We have 7,000 languages. Each of these languages encompasses a world-view, encompasses the ideas and predispositions and cognitive tools developed by thousands of years of people in that culture. Each one of those languages offers a whole encapsulated universe. So we have 7,000 parallel universes, some of them are quite similar to one another, and others are a lot more different. The fact that there's this great diversity is a real testament to the flexibility and the ingenuity of the human mind.

It makes you wonder how the Dead  (in the Merlyn books) can come to a common ground because of such diversity of language. The reason the Dead and sometimes the Living can meet on a common ground is because the true language of the heartansoulanmind has no grammar, just as I, Amorella, do not have grammar and in order to communicate I must use yours or whose ever language I am communicating with. These are the rules. - Amorella

I understand this full well. Last night, while talking with an old friend we both used the word "forever" and we found (within ourselves) that there was nothing else to say, that is, there were no more words. And, during that pause in our conversation I felt "at peace". Settled in a nest.

A good phrase, "settled in a nest". The circumstance was two-fold in that it was a nest beyond your own making, and more like the Gemnests mentioned in the blog a few days ago. These events are surroundings of heartansoulanmind woven within the physics of 'Being'. Sometimes within the nature of the event friendship and being are one in the same. And, particularly so because no vows are needed. "Forever" is an afterthought. The Place of the Dead in these Merlyn books is such a 'Nest' of friends and friends of friends. This is how it is, and is thus, one of the rules of the Dead, and sometimes even of the Living. Post. - Amorella

You have an acknowledgement from the other party on your 'event' of last night that reads: "That was a true heartfelt moment.  I am glad we both had pause to feel it. . . . " This is important in context because this 'pause' between you both cannot be construed as one-sided imagination. - Amorella

It was not imagination. Strange how a few written words and a pause will probably be remembered for the rest of my life. Once in a while such things happen to people, which are indeed 'heartfelt' and as such remembered. (1656)

Let's work on Merlyn's introduction to Dead 13. - Amorella

You had supper at Panera/Chipotle in part to celebrate more work on your trip to Texas and Arizona in April. Airline tickets tomorrow and Craig and Alta already have two night reservations in both Sedona and at the Grand Canyon within a half-mile of the south rim. Once home from supper you watched two more DVRed shows; pleasantly interrupted once by a fun camera phone call from Kim, Paul and Owen. Now you are about ready for bed. - Amorella

2300 hours. I didn't get much done, 118 words intro is all. Here it is:

The Dead 13, intro

It is a pleasure to awaken in this bed that is very much a memory of my adolescent days in life. A few blankets across a few wooden planks attached to four legs created from tree trunks. My pillow is a forearm in width and two hands high. Those of you who know of Thoreau and his cabin at Walden's Pond that's about the size. The exterior dimensions of Thoreau's cabin were ten by fifteen feet. Mine is about the same but without the physical reality. Before we go any further the Living need to know a few of the rules we Dead have; particularly if my memory serves me well enough to return to Avalon or Elysium.

This will be followed with the "We Dead" paragraphs, which gives me 381 words.

         Post, old man. - Amorella
