Notes - just a day / Amorella talks and I listen

Southwest Ohio has a rainy Monday to begin the week. Ellie is upstairs keeping you company while Jadah is downstairs with Carol while she finishes the 'tabloid' Cincinnati Enquirer. You are surprised that it isn't as bad as you supposed it would be, though the tabloid front page has look-a-likes all over London.

0944 hours. True. I was surprised at the thicker content, it feels more like a newspaper now and the thicker papered color comics and games page were the front foldout I suppose to protect the real front page from weather in our local delivery system. I ought to get cracking on my exercises and be done with them so I can get a nap in. It looks like the day is going to be very uneventful. Looking forward to Craig and Alta's visit tomorrow.

You have concluded your exercises for today; you have been averaging five to six thirty minute periods for the last few weeks. Dr. B appears to like it, but you are mostly moving limbs and back/stomach muscles a bit and climbing the stairs can still be a chore depending on the time of day. Your walking is much shorter than it used to be, it takes a lot of energy even standing in place for any length of time; thus, you most always have one of your canes close by.  - Amorella

1034 hours. Obviously I have never been in the best of health. I wish I would walk more but laying down is the most comfortable way to get any exercise at all, so, like a lot of things in the world, it is better than none at all. It is time for a soaker, a warm bath for the joints.

1206 hours. I feel better. Spent time online before bath, checking on word origins, a rather fun enterprise and I found a website on word origins and meanings I had not seen before, a British website by the look of it, 'The Word Detective', definitely worth a bookmark.

Carol is washing several loads of clothes and doing other household chores also. - Amorella

You had a couple of errands to run and most of the afternoon has dropped on by. - Amorella

1711 hours. Besides the errands the temporary cap came off my tooth. The dentist is open in the morning. Craig and Alta will be here before noon. I do have a photo of the scene from our car at the park if you look to the south rather than straight ahead to the southwest.

Looking south back towards the unseen 30 + foot high
earth dam about a quarter mile or so away.

I don't know the height of the dam but eyeballing it is thirty or so feet high and maybe fifty or so feet across.

Why is any of this important, orndorff? - Amorella

It isn't except to me when I see this scene I feel Merlyn would like it even better than I do. I think of Merlyn when we go to any woods or woods-like scene. Muddy Creek can be a small flowing body of water from the River Styx at Avalon just as easily. It wouldn't take much to put this photo into a scene in any of the four story selections in a chapter, even on one of the ThreePlanets for that matter. Later, Amorella I am getting tired. (1732)

         Post. - Amorella

I tried to take a nap. Carol is fixing supper. I did, however, pop that temporary cap back over the remains of the tooth. Surprised me as I stayed in the chair and just used my fingers.

Let's give Dead 14 some work until supper. - Amorella

1803 hours. I just realized (once again today) that in this place where we are in Dead 14 I am Vivian. I want to know what wisdom and love is. This sixteen year old, a very good student and an office aide of mine once asked me, "Mr. Orndorff, what is love?" I could not answer her question. So, Vivien is asking Merlyn the question for me. This is indeed a twist.

When you will have finished these books you will have an answer for her within the bindings. This will be your response to her once you have defined yourself. Time to eat. Later, dude. - Amorella

I don't know how to ask this next question.

The answer will be your answer of what wisdom and love are not the answer. - Amorella

That's just fine. I want this to be my answer, she asked me the question. She did not expect a response she could read in a book. So, literally, my student's question is the reason I saw her then and see her now as a muse?

Yes. In a nutshell, the kind one takes with herorhim (in these books) when they die physically, her question is the reason. - Amorella

What about the other muse? Is she a muse because when I asked her, "Should I write neo-classic or romantic?" She did not hesitate and replied, "Romantic." I had been leaning neoclassic in the vein of Swift and Voltaire and was taken back by her suggestion because I thought of myself as a closet romantic, I did not want that side of me opened.

No, orndorff. Your second muse reads and lights the path between the lines when you least expect it. She unconsciously, that is, in your unconscious mind she anchors and sparks the creativity in your heart and sometimes in your mind as far as the Merlyn books are concerned. Among other duties, I touch your soul but I listen and use both your heartanmind. Other friends and situations inspire you. The friends and relatives who read your first three books, and those who are old friends who know who the are, inspire you from time to time because they are old friends whom you love dearly. Human beings are not creative because they are statues of existential ice, boy. Passion drives the heartansoulanmind, the human spirit, if you will. At least it is so in this blog and books. You need to realize you are not alone when you write. Bob was along with you when he was alive. Doug is along with you now. You are not alone in this adventure, boy.

One of your favorite essay questions for your students was to explain the difference (in expository essay form) between wisdom and knowledge. You stayed away from love in the classroom except when you used "Love is a bullet" as an example of a metaphysical conceit. At least to you it is. - Amorella

1944 hours. Yeah, I liked that one. Students weren't expecting it. I explained (because they asked) that I got the idea from the old phrase "being shot down" as in a romance. I thought it was funny (because most everyone growing up has been there one time or another). Today, it is not so much funny.

The point is, you are still being driven by those many, many former students and colleagues. They are as ghosts, boy. Their youthful dreams as well as your own, haunt your mind and heart. They speak through Merlyn and the other characters in ways and dimensions most don't realize exist - in unconscious dimensions of the human spirit. Your own in this case. So, enough self-contemplation on you as an Ahab or even as the great white whale. You are neither. - Amorella

This is just like you are sitting in my head talking to me alone.

It was time for such a talk. Enough for today. Post. - Amorella

We are at the store getting special items for Craig and Alta as Carol decided to make lunch; after lunch we go to Graeter's for dessert (if they so desire). (2019)

This has given you time to think and pause and think some more.

I am still writing this for Owen and Brennan.

You are writing this for anyone who wants to take the time to read the three volumes when completed. - Amorella

That's funny Amorella such a direct statement brings me down to earth. I would be pleased if a handful (five) would read the book. That would be enough to suit me.

Suit you in what? Post when you return. - Amorella

Such humor. You make me smile Amorella.
