Notes - a well-worked and satisfying day

While talking with Andy F. this morning you found your portfolio of stocks and bonds, etc. is up for a change but your focus has not changed from 'being moderate' in investments in case the market goes back down, which well it might. Carol and Andy work well together. Lunch at Five Guys on SR 23 then up to Kim and Paul's rental. You drove around the area and took a trip from their new place up to Marion Memorial/Smith Institute. You also stopped to respectfully see the graves of John Douglas Goss' parents: John and Darlene. You also felt  good getting  on your hands and knees to sweep away the dead grass from a recent mowing to take a photo of the gravesite to send to Doug tomorrow. You told the caretaker who showed you where the site was that, 'my friend's parents and family were closer to me than my own parents through my pre-teen and teen years.' It was a good satisfying day in the Columbus area. Once home we got busy and mowed the yard as well as had six trees checked for the Ash bore disease. Two trees have to come down and we are going to try to save four. Besides that we have two more trees to be trimmed of dead wood and four more to come down. I hope we can save the four Ash trees. This will cost us a bit, but it is worth the effort from our perspective. The one large Ash out front is at least eighty feet tall and the trunk is about 40 inches in diameter.

We watched last night's "Castle" about eight o'clock and NBC New about nine. I was ready for bed then and still am. Tomorrow the dentist and a trip to Performance Honda to get the moon roof looked at in the 2005 Accord. It has jammed twice in the last day trying to close it. We did get it closed though.

On the way home from Columbus you told Carol about what's coming up for Merlyn. She listens but does not say much, then you went on talking about how cool Wikipedia Offline was in finding facts about the age of consent in the seventh century. You are better at telling her, at times, what the book is about. This is much better than in the first three Merlyn books. She never asked and you rarely if ever said anything about them. Carol was satisfied to know you had several readers such as Alta and Aunt Patsy and Uncle Ernie and your sister Cathy. - Post. - Amorella
