You came into Kenwood for lunch at
Potbelly’s ate, and you are now waiting for Carol at Macy’s. You drove around
for fifteen minutes and did not find a parking spot after dropping Carol off.
You are presently sitting in an out of the way spot but it is not for parking.
At least you were getting ninety-nine miles per gallon according to the car
technology. – Amorella
1441
hours. Actually we are getting 36.2 according to the tech. I have observed it
being off about one mile per gallon either way, usually on the high side if it
is off. Sometimes the accuracy is right on. This is not a complaint because the
outside temperature tech can vary one or two degrees either way also. On the
2003 blue Honda (traded in) the outside temperature was usually off five degree
(warmer) than it actually was. This kind of information reminds of what
Einstein once said (paraphrased here) about time. ‘If you have one watch you
know what time it is, if you have two you are never sure.’
Let’s go to Chapter Seven boy. Skim through
and come up with a theme word then we’ll begin with Dead. – Amorella
1536
hours. I had to look up the chapter theme for each. I had an idea for chapter
seven but now I cannot remember it.
You are now waiting for Carol to buy bird
suet at Walmart on Mason-Montgomery and next stop is Kroger’s for milk then
home. You just remembered noting “Contemplation” for Chapter Seven. Thus, you
have chapter theme words for: One, Slavery; Two, Control; Three, Circumstance;
Four, Crème de la Crème; Five,
Satisfaction; Six, Grammar; and Seven, Contemplation. Add these to your GMG Stats for easy access. – Amorella
1548
hours. I completed this task, but I don’t see the connection in terms of
context as far as the ‘chapter list of theme words’ is concerned. The list
seems arbitrary out of chapter content context.
What do you want, an alphabetical order? –
Amorella
1559 hours. We are at Kroger’s. You know, alphabetical
order would be pretty cool actually. In fact, it would be awesome.
Boy, you know I was being sarcastic. –
Amorella
I know. I saw the humor; but then on thinking about it,
it would be pretty cool, like, you know – ‘how did he do that?’
Or, it could be, ‘you know, why’d he do
that?’ – Amorella
1603 hours. You have a point. Like chapter numbers
though – it would show a correlation in thought concept. Chapter numbers are
set by tradition. I realize though that his isn’t about what I might think is
cool, a minor point like window trim. It is about a plausible reality set in my
head. In fact, like in a Shakespearian play, the setting makes little or no
difference. These Merlyn works could be dropped into most any series of stage
settings. I hadn’t really thought about that. I remember seeing “Antigone”
putting on at the Otterbein Theatre when in college. It was during the Civil
Rights demonstrations and King Creon was made out as a southern [Alabama-like]
governor. The production was very well done. I liked it. I can’t imagine
Sophocles caring much either way as long as the initial point is made.
You are home where Carol climbed the ladder
in the garage to remove the screen from the ceiling and drop the solid piece of
plasterboard ceiling back in its place to help keep the cold out (a Fall chore
not done earlier). You filled the suet basket and put it out falling once
because you unknowingly stepped on a snow-covered rock. No bruises but the ego
were involved.
1657 hours. Carol worries about me falling in such
weather. I am secretly apprehensive about it anytime, but Carol was right, my
balance is better not using my cane so much – like I have not used it today but
yesterday I did when I walked down to Chipotle from Panera. There was about an
inch of snow on the walkway and it was snowing rather briskly. This reminds me
of wanting to go out to lunch in the snow (about two inches were on the ground,
etc.) and at first Carol didn’t want to go. I thought, ‘we are really getting
old to let a little snow stop us.’ She finally decided to go though and though
I didn’t say anything I feel we are better off for doing so. It wasn’t that
bad, and even if it were, so what. It wasn’t a blizzard. The government hadn’t
ordered us off the streets with some sort of maximum snow alert.
Your neighbor is home today. Carol was
thinking about making her soup this next week. You think Carol is too kind,
that she thinks about interacting with others too much. – Amorella
She likes to help. It is okay but I keep thinking she will
be taken advantage of. Most everyone gets taken advantage once in a while. Not
a human trait I like to dwell on too often. You try to be easy going, polite,
empathetic and someone comes along and takes it as a weakness. It’s an equation
I readily understand. I have taken the kindness out but Carol still has it in
her. Wow. Where did that come
from?
Your heart, my man. You have your reasons
for backing away from people sometimes. I am talking about some past
acquaintances and family not really friends here. Your long favorite song “I Am
A Rock” by Bob Dylan wasn’t played (privately) on the guitar and sung by you
without appropriate reason.
Kim
called and you talking about meeting Tuesday or Friday. You assume it will be
Friday because of Tuesday’s doctor appointment. She spoke of the big game
between Ohio State and Michigan State tonight and “reminded” you that Ohio
State beat Michigan last week by one point. You played it down like you don’t
care who wins but that is a fiction. Kim knows when you are trying to get a
rise out of her.
1759
hours. I would like to see Ohio State win. I was born and raised in Frankly
County, Ohio. I wish them well. They did and do have an awesome marching band.
I remember the thrills at the ‘Horseshoe’, the Ohio Stadium in the fifties and
sixties when Woody was coach. It was a very energetic and lively time for me to
have been personally involved.
