Notes - no more today

Late afternoon. You had a good drive up to Columbus and back. Your conference with Andy F. lasted two hours but you accomplished more with financial goals and objectives than either of you expected. At noon you called Mary Lou and she met you for lunch at Olive Garden at the Polaris Centre. Once home Carol gathered more papers and took everything in to the accountant firm that takes care of your taxes. Carol is just happy it’s all in. If she’s happy, you’re happy, that’s the crux of it.

1642 hours. We just returned from Blue Ash and the rain, which began as we left for Blue Ash, began to ice the car. So, we made it before the ice hit. Wow, there’s thunder, been a long time since we have heard any thunder around here. Supposedly it will begin to thaw by noon tomorrow. Maybe we will even hit sixty degrees by the weekend. And, this weekend we have a birthday party for Brennan at Chuckey Cheese.  The car looks like it is getting better mileage, but we’ll have to wait until I fill it up. The gauge says we have 103 miles to the fill up mark but I’ve checked twice and when it hits that mark we still have two and a half gallons of fuel in the tank, that’s another seventy-five miles – well, at least fifty more that we can safely run. We keep remarking how quiet the car is and we have never owned a car more comfortable to ride in. I think it is old age; when we were younger (pre-arthritic) we could have cared less. We took VW Beetles to Florida into the 1980’s and never thought a thing about it – that was up to the time Kim was about five years old. Then we bought a new white VW Quantum and from there the new styled 80’s Taurus’ and Sables (I had my ’85 GTI for nine years) until Carol’s 1998 white Honda Accord, then Accords until the Toyota Avalon. What I love is that we have all the written stats on all those cars from 1965 to today. I take them out and look at them once in a while. We love our automobiles and we love to drive.

You got a bit carried away boy. Your passion is showing. From my perspective one’s passions are the most telling part of a person’s character. In the story this is easy to see as long as you remember who the main character is, Merlyn. His passions are tangled in the dreams he has, and in who the characters are in his dreams, Grandma begins that central character because all the rest peep out from beneath her flowery dress don’t you know. What do you think young man? – Amorella

1704 hours. I don’t take the time to think of the story that way but obviously, yes, Merlyn and then Grandma. Technically it would be Grandma first, the Merlyn. You have to have a grandma before you can have a grandson.

Relax this evening, watch your PBS shows from last night. Carol says you are having scrambled eggs for supper. Enjoy. I hear the wind picking up and I can see the ice forming on the tree limbs. Good night to stay in and be comfortable. No more tonight. – Post. - Amorella
