Notes - a work-a-day

Almost noon. You have to add the final chapters to the F.GMG.One document. You have been toying with the ePub Best Practices doc. – Amorella

Mid-afternoon. You are sitting at Kroger’s on Tylersville waiting for Carol after a very late lunch at Smashburgers. Carol has spent much of the day grinding up old credit card material and other household receipts that have gone back several years too many. Other than doing your exercises you spent most of the morning with Jadah the Cat who needed a lot of attention today. You have both front windows down enjoying the fresh air. There is no sign of an impending storm named Titan bearing down from the west. The local Mason forecast is for four to eight inches of snow between tonight and Monday morning, and there are still piles of snow in the Kroger lot from the last storms.

1543 hours. The winds just picked up, the flag is mostly straight out. I just put up the passenger side window. I will work on putting the last chapters in place. Maybe I ought to go buy copy powder – it will be my first business expense of the year. I’ll have to check it out online but buy it the cheapest place nearby. Actually, it will be fun to see what I have in print.

The groceries are in their place and you are at Pine Hill Lakes City Park just northeast of the earthen dam waiting for Carol to complete her walk. You have the updated novel in both Word and Page. You have 67,501 words in the document including the title page and various introductions. Set both (new) working copies at Ariel 11.

Before supper you drove to Office Max for yellow paper for your draft and toner for your printer should it be necessary. You watched NBC and ABC News, had half a ham and cheese sandwich and a glass of raisin bran cereal and skim milk for supper as you both watched Thursday’s “Elementary”.

2135 hours. Most everything is ready to run the printer. I checked the word count on Braided Dreams and it has 166,328 words with the sections per chapter. Great Merlyn’s Ghost. One has 67,501 words with four sections per chapter. I also added the below to my Facebook page tonight.

Today is quite exciting for me. My newly reconstructed Great Merlyn’s Ghost: One has four story segments per chapter for twenty-one chapters. In essence the reconstruction accomplishes the same story, Braided Dreams, of 166,328 words in the same twenty-one chapters with a twenty-five percent story addition in only 67,501 words. Now is time to run a real paper draft for final proofing. The ebook will soon be available for free for 90 days in appreciation for those who bought the first softbound paper edition of Braided Dreams. Running Through and Merlyn’s Mind will also be transformed to more in less. After the last two books are fully ‘refurbished’ I will make the three books each available in a softbound paper edition. At that time I will have accomplished my writing ‘bucket list’. My best to all. :-)  rho
