Notes - existential circumstances / reminder to me / editing for ch. 15 completed

Shortly after noon. You both just voted at precinct forty-one-k in the municipal building. Carol is walking across the street at Rose Hill Cemetery. You are facing west at a tree shaded center crossroad, for you a very comfortable spot. One of the register ladies asked what your name was and you said, “German”, then added, “We’ve been here since the Revolution”.

1223 hours. I didn’t mean it to be arrogant but it probably came off that way.

She was being polite with small talk, boy. The comment made you angry because it made you think of old small town Westerville in the late forties where everyone seemed to you to be in everyone else’s business; that plus watching “Mr. Selfridge” last night and the World War paranoia. You were sensitive to that too just so you know where it was coming from. – Amorella

Amazing. I had no idea why I even said it. What you say makes sense, particularly the part that we had been here since the Revolution. I almost said, “1732”. Why would I be associating like this?

The circumstance was the cord strung. People do and say lots of things and have no idea why afterwards. Usually it is the circumstance, at least that is how it is in the blog and Merlyn books. – Amorella

1233 hours. So, you are saying the dialogue, etc. is partially circumstance?

It is all circumstance; your brain, memory, heart, soul and mind are all circumstance. – Amorella

1238 hours. Existential circumstances are more exact.

While eating a sandwich at home you just realized that the Merlyn books are existential circumstances all the way back through the Thunder Myths. – Amorella

1317 hours. I hadn’t thought about it. There are so many things I don’t think about. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. This is very, very reassuring in terms of layout and setting. I would rather leave it at that.

Carol just left for a longer than usual hair appointment. You have a couple errands to do. Later, dude. – Amorella

1454 hours. I got the Toyota washed and filled up as we are taking it to Westerville Thursday for a change. Coming home from the car wash and partly on the freeway I got 45 mpg on the short four mile run. This was pretty awesome to me. I used the eco button a couple of times, (for the first time) which kept the car in all electric for a few minutes of city driving.

You have a beautiful few days ahead boy. Enjoy them. – Amorella

In these books how do the Dead fare better if they accept that their lives were lived essentially in existential circumstances? I better define existential here to remind me.

No need, boy. It is generally easier to forgive one’s self-realization that she or he did not have complete control of her or his life. In here one doesn’t really have any choice on who or his or her parents and their personal and social consequences. Following the tenants of prudence, justice, temperance and fortitude that are taught within one’s greater culture one does the best she or he can do under whatever circumstances one matures with. The maxim is serving others as one serves one’s self, as far as the marsupial humanoids are concerned. No tricks or manipulations in death boy. What you are is what you get. Deal with it and move on. Not much different than life really, not in these books because the books are making a point, are they not, about who’s dead and who isn’t? – Amorella

1515 hours. They are in my mind. People who shun or disguise their humanity are closer to dead than some of the Dead are as far as I am concerned. Dark humor no doubt.

It is authentic dark humor though and that makes a difference in that it is no lighter humor for you, as it were, than anyone else. That’s what makes it work. – Amorella

This stuff should be understood, Amorella. I don’t see the reason to bring it up.

It is a reminder to you. It is also time for a break. Then we will work on chapter fifteen, making a few changes along the way. Post. - Amorella

It is time for bed. You edited chapter fifteen except for two paragraphs, which I will add in the dialogue you deleted. Other small changes also, but that is tomorrow. You will also work in the yard tomorrow as it is Spring and time to complete such tasks. – Amorella

2253 hours. I am surprised this editing went so quickly. I had shut the computer down.
