Notes - sirens / shake a leg

Mid-morning. Carol is at breakfast with her friends. You are ready to take a nap as you were up with Jadah during the night then awoke early because Carol had to get ready for her breakfast. It is dreary morning. Last night at five-fifteen the sirens whaled a tornado warning. You went out to look as Carol gathered up essentials for the basement. The weather looked worse just east (unusual cloud turbulence in low gray/dark mixes). You discovered the cats don’t like small spaces (their cages) in times of emergency so next time you just pick them up and take them to the basement and they can hide where they wish once there. – Amorella

0854 hours. I didn’t hear the sirens at first because I had the fan on in the living room. I went about gathering up things for the basement in a basic routine fashion but I could tell the cats were sensitive to the moment and absolutely did not want to be caged. The key is to get them into the basement first thing. There are plenty of safe place to hide once there.

1425 hours. We had lunch for the third time at Piada Street Italian on Mason-Montgomery Road, very good. Carol has a small Balsamic Chicken Salad and I have a grilled Chicken Fritti Piada. There are lots of extras to put on the food, in that way it is very similar to Chipotle. Carol bought a few tops at Macy’s yesterday and we are taking one back so here I am on the south lot of Macy’s.

You have been thinking about the recent neuroquantology articles and wonder if there is a way to show them to be within the boundaries of the Thunder Mythology. – Amorella

1431 hours. I think the concepts presented in neuroquantology are very interest and indeed profound.

Carol arrived at your last sentence. You stopped for a Graeter’s after some errands then you mowed the front lawn with Carol’s help on the southwest, west and north sides. You both had light suppers and watched “Surviving Jack”, “NBC News” and “Blue Bloods”. Let’s let the neuroquantology slide until GMG.Two and relate it to the marsupial humanoids – after all they have a twenty thousand year head start. – Amorella

2123 hours. A flash to Dune and the Space Guild Navigators and their use of melange – the spice that allows them to plot their freighter ships through space and time.

A Guild Navigator (alternately Guildsman or Steersmen) is a fictional humanoid in the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert. In this series and its derivative works, starships called heighliners employ a scientific phenomenon known as the Holtzman effect to “fold space” and thereby travel great distances across the universe instantaneously. Humans mutated through the consumption of and exposure to massive amounts of the spice melange. Navigators are able to use a limited form of prescience to safely navigate interstellar space. Control of these Navigators gives the Spacing Guild its monopoly on interstellar travel and banking, making the organization a balance of power against the Padishah Emperor and the assembled noble Houses of the Landsraad.

No, orndorff.  Why do something that has already been done? – Amorella

2152 hours. How can the concept become important in GMG.Two?

What need is there for a spaceship to go from point A to point B when the heart can travel anywhere instantly. – Amorella

2156 hours. This idea is a fantasy, not science fiction.

Ship discovers a formula whereby he can ride someone’s heart. There is no need of spice for navigation. – Amorella

2159 hours. But Ship is a machine.

It is easier for a machine, so Ship considers, to focus on the place the thought originates no matter what universe it originates in. We border on the zone of the Betweeners. - Amorella

2203 hours. This is out of my league. I know Ship has a sense of Yermey’s humanity – his heartansoulanmind – but how can he develop this?

Ship can by developing and using the physics of ‘thought’. This is not something people can do because they are the thinkers. Ship thinks he might be able to go along for the ride because his ‘thinking’ is artificial not natural. This is akin to watching birds fly naturally and then building the machinery to mimic the flight – a plane. – Amorella

2210 hours. I am not sure this makes sense. Are you saying that Ship ‘believes’ that the Thunder Myth is true?

He does, so he is going to attempt to prove this first by riding a thought from what it is back to its original birth, so to speak. He comes to think that the thought originally came from the Lightning before the Thunder. – Amorella

2214 hours. This is . . . I don’t know what it is. Wow. I will have to let this sink in.

If you can use DNA to trace one’s ancestor’s then there must be something in ‘grammar and reason’ to trace a thought back – in some ways analogous to studying the development, or rather tracing a word back to its original to its original Indo-European word for example. Word meanings change and so do thoughts. This is the sort of logical principle that Ship begins with. But he is an outsider, in some ways, like I see myself in space and time. Betweeners, in my definition are between Before and Space and Time in the Thunder Myth.

2225 hours. I have other questions but I need to think them over before I ask one of them.

You are concerned that someone will steal these concepts. – Amorella

2226 hours. No. I think I feel I have an ownership of them, but in reality, they are not mine. My apprehension is that someone could take all these Merlyn books and write a better story than I can. In fact, there is no question about it in my mind at all. – I don’t care. Shoot. Someone can steal any of this and use it in her or his own work. Let them. If they write a better story, then more power to them. I couldn’t do any of this on my own anyway. You bring up interesting aspects though, that I would not think of by myself. You keep this fun and challenging and interesting, at least to me. Thank you.

See. You are still alive and can still shake a leg boy. Relax, get a good night’s sleep. – Post. - Amorella
