Notes - arrogance / ch 9 & 8 tweaked / money wields / definitions

Shortly before noon. You completed your forty minute exercises. Carol is downstairs working on bills to mail. Thunderstorms last night and a rather restless sleep, which you made up for with an hour or so nap with Jadah resting on your stomach the entire time this morning. – Amorella

1148 hours. She must think me a pillow but she is soft and warm herself and reminds Carol and me of Kim when she was about two – a little body with lots of energy, but angel-like when asleep. Here she comes for a facial massage.

You were looking over prices to charge for your ebook, most suggested 2.99 to 3.99, (so Amazon can make more profit selling); but some go as low as 99 cents as a ploy to sell more books because the reader doesn’t have to invest much and thus you appear to have more readership. No matter what you do it appears to have something to do with strategy of marketing and making a profit within the book market. – Amorella

1231 hours. It is depressing. No matter what I do it will appear I am trying to market the book. The writers even suggest that I sell at 99 cents especially if I have more than one book so I will have more readership so the second and third book will sell more. My point originally was to sell low because I don’t care about the money. That in itself says I am trying to show my humility and my less material self in order to sell more books.

You have no choice but to live in the world you exist in boy. Good intentions is not what marketing and selling books is about, even e-books. – Amorella

1239 hours. Deep down I detest this sort of environment.

Deep down you are arrogant. Your good friend Gary Poppelwell once told you that you were the most arrogant man he has ever known. This is from an excellent high school counselor who at the time had been your personal friend as well as worked with you for two decades. He is still your friend. Post. – Amorella

You had a mid-afternoon lunch at Max and Erma’s in Sharonville on the way to Reading to make a yearly deposit into Carol’s Cincinnati Police/Teachers’ Credit Union. You also have tweaked chapters nine and eight, so you are coming along with seven more chapters to go. Post. - Amorella

You had left over Papa John’s pizza for supper and watched a couple of DVRed shows as well as the news. Are you ready to move through chapter seven? – Amorella

2157 hours. I can begin. I really don’t know how I am going to handle this ebook business. I hate dealing with people about money. It is demeaning.

2202 hours. I had to look it up to make sure I am using the word correctly. The best meaning of ‘demeaning’ in context is “undignified”.

         More arrogance. – Amorella

I don’t know how to better express myself without showing more arrogance.

Theoretical question: If I were a real Angel watching what would you say, in as few words as possible, about money in your heartansoulanmind? – Amorella

2211 hours. Money wields too much power in the world. We can easily become a slave to that power. Our cultures are built around it to the point it has become a prison and it can be suffocating. I would rather avoid it, but then, ironically, I can afford to do so. I peep about and find another dark joke in this world. I would rather not think on it. I would like to think our species could live better than this, let’s say, be motivated by good will towards others and a better life for the children without an economy hanging over our heads. I would not see the dark joke if I wore rose colored glasses. This is the way the world is. I survive and do what I have to, to live a reasonable social life but I do not have to like this world as it is, and I don’t. – rho

You could no doubt put this in fewer words but you make your point. – Amorella

You could put it into fewer words Amorella but I am not asking you to do so. I can stand on my own thoughts.

         Post. - Amorella

2245 hours. I came upstairs to get ready for bed and find myself concerned with the use of  a hypothetical angel. I don’t remember the difference in the two words. So, here I am.

** **
theoretical adjective

concerned with or involving the theory of a subject or area of study rather than its practical application: a theoretical physicist | the training is task-related rather than theoretical.

• based on or calculated through theory rather than experience or practice: the theoretical value of their work.

and

hypothetical – adjective

of, based on, or serving as a hypothesis: that option is merely hypothetical at this juncture.

• supposed but not necessarily real or true: the hypothetical tenth planet.

• Logic denoting or containing a proposition of the logical form if p then q.

2252 hours. I am adding ‘hypothetical’ and deleting ‘theoretical’. I should not have been confused the two words but I did. One of many errors I make in language every day. The irony is more than funny. I cannot help but smile. Laughing aloud would wake Carol.

         Post. - Amorella

2256 hours. I just noticed that you said theoretical angel and I said theoretical or hypothetical [angel]. Your use of the word appears to be correct in context, it is mine that I was questioning and corrected. How odd. I mean, really.
