Mid-afternoon. This morning you sent GMG.1 in for publication as well
as the photograph to be used as the base of the book cover. The total with
online discounts eighty dollars was three hundred and seventy-seven dollars for
publication and cover. For your particular needs BookBaby was substantially
cheaper than any other e-publisher. You and Carol were on the phone with Kim
and did not leave for lunch until after two – Carol’s choice – Panera/Chipotle.
Presently you are facing east near the earth dam at Pine Hill Lakes Park while
Carol is walking. – Amorella
1601 hours. I can’t think of anything other than I feel better now that
the book is in. They asked for a publishing date and I thought that September
is always a good month to begin a new year, plus the first day that came to
mind was the third. I don’t know if that is a good day or not because later I
realized it has historical significance, which was probably the reason I
remember it anyway.
You could have used Kim’s birthday. – Amorella
I was thinking September first not August. The 23rd would
have been a good number as Carol and Kim’s birthdays are both on that day in
separate months. I think it was the day the war began in Europe in 1939 but I
will have to check. Wikipedia Offline says the war began with the invasion of
Poland on 1 September 1939. It was not an historical date evidently. – I asked
Siri and she says that England declared war on Germany on 3 September 1939. I
knew that date was important but it was in British history.

The UK declares war on Germany following the German
invasion of Poland on 1 September. Shortly after 11.00, Chamberlain announces
this news on BBC Radio, speaking from 10 Downing Street. Twenty minutes later,
air raid sirens sound in London (a false alarm). Chamberlain creates a small
War Cabinet which includes Winston Churchill as First Lord of the Admiralty.
General mobilisation of the armed services begins, National Service (Armed
Forces) Act passed by Parliament; [Parliament] introduces National Service for
all men aged 18 to 41; British liner SS “Athenia” becomes the first civilian
casualty of the war when she is torpedoed and sunk by German submarine “U-30”
between Rockall and Tory Island. Of the 1,418 aboard, 98 passengers and19 crew
are killed.

Why are you being superstitious? You remembered the date because it was
important in British history, which for you was a subset of British literature.
– Amorella
1646 hours. We are home. Carol is reading on the front porch. Kim is
coming down for lunch on Friday. We are already looking forward to it. I don’t
know why I am being superstitious. I think it is continuous philosophical
battle between my romantic mind and my neoclassic mind. Strangely, I associate
you, Amorella the Spirit, with the neoclassic side not the romantic.
I am not a Spirit, orndorff. A Betweener is a better descriptive word.
I presently hover between no-letters-no-numbers and your human spirit – the
heartansoulanmind.
1701 hours. What?
Where did this hour go? I feel like I was in never-never land the whole time
but I can see this is not true. Spaced-out is a word for it, but I feel like I
haven’t been anywhere but not here. My sense of time has not been a large part
of this last hour.

You
just noted a BookBaby correspondence that says you did not conform to the rules
by forgetting to put a stop page at the end of each chapter. You called but
they are closed for the day. Your assumption is that you have lost the money
because of this shortsightedness (although you asked two days ago and had not
received a reply until now). If you have lost your money do not resubmit just
put it out online for anyone to read if they wish. – Amorella
1732 hours. If I have lost the money then beyond that I will be doing
what I had thought about doing in the beginning – just putting the book out there as
a freebee for those interested. Just as well. Once I completely revamp all
three then perhaps I’ll give it another try on an e-publication. Perhaps I'll make it two books rather than three at that time. I'll have to wait and see.
Do as you
will, boy. Tomorrow we begin on chapter three, book two. - Amorella
2116 hours. Carol
had cottage cheese and crackers and I had baby carrots and a cup of cereal for
supper while we watched NBC and ABC News and last night’s PBS Mystery Theatre
starring Hercule Poirot. Wonderful show.
You sent another note to BookBaby saying that you assume you will have
to pay money to fix the problem with your book. You told them that
“misunderstanding things” is nothing new with you and that you have developed a
dark sense of humor to compensate for it. – Amorella
2122 hours. I had thought about it Amorella and decided that it is not
the end of the world and that I don’t need to wait until the other books are
out. I just took some time sort out the idea that I had screwed up. I should
have read more closely. Back in the days with iUniverse they did all the work
but of course you paid for it. And, you had to do your own proofreading just
like now that is unless you wanted to pay someone to do it for you. I hope it
doesn’t cost more than a hundred dollars to fix this, that’s my concern. I
wanted to pay Carol today but Carol says I can draw it out of the bank once the
actual bill comes in. She doesn’t want to deal with it now. Tomorrow the plan
is to be at the DVM to get new plate stickers and a new Ohio driver’s license.
Until I looked it up tonight I did not realize the DMV is a private contractor
and the State of Ohio does not operate any of it. I wonder when that happened? Waiting
still exists just like it always did unless you can manage to grab a chair.
First though you have to pull a number then grab that chair. The computer
system is usually very slow if it is up at all. I think I’ll go to bed early. I
do have the ebook document corrected and ready to go.
Your dark humor serves you well boy. Humor is almost always your wall
of defense once you have the time to think out the situation you find yourself
in. Again, here we have it: “Former Teacher of English Caught Not Reading the
Directions.” – Amorella
2138. It brings a smile to think on the school newspaper headlines.
