Notes - no different / generations / time for bed

The furnace and humidifier are being worked on. – you have a saddle valve in need of rectifying according to Larry. – Amorella

0808 hours. I wasn’t sure rectifying was the correct word choice so I looked it up. The Oxford/American says it can be used accordingly but it doesn’t seem quite cricket to me.

Tough beans, orndorff. If it were wrong, who would be to blame? Working through your awkward translating field is like walking through a mine field. Make one wrong step and boom, you miss the point or miss-translate it, which can actually be worse. What do you think of them apples, boy? – Amorella

0813 hours. Mostly all it means is that I am doing two things at once, working from one part of my mind, while mostly my imagination is working from the other.

Why is it you are suddenly reminded of:

One of Philae’s goals is to provide evidence that the organic chemicals on a comet are sufficiently similar to the building blocks of life to support the comet impact theory for abiogenesis. A key factor is whether Comet 67P (and by extension other comets) contain predominantly right- or left-handed molecules.

Many molecules come in one of two forms, known as stereoisomers, which chemists designate as left- or right-handed. These two forms are identical apart from the fact that they are mirror images of each other.

Your hands are a perfect analogy. Structurally, they are the same except for the fact that you can’t superimpose one on the other. And so it is with stereoisomers.

Strangely, life on Earth is based entirely on left-handed molecules. It is perfectly possible to make the right-handed versions, but life just doesn’t. Where this preference for left-handedness comes from is a mystery. One theory is that the bias came from within the chemistry of comets. In the comets, right-handed molecules may have been preferentially destroyed by a combination of sunlight (to provide energy to trigger chemical reactions) and liquid water (with which the organic compounds could react).

You are speculating, rather wildly, with a new hypothesis – that I am your mind in a right-handed version while you are your mind in the more traditional left-handed version, uh, so to speak. Is this correct? – Amorella

0926 hours. You expressed the thought better than I could. I had no idea how to express it because I didn’t know the particulars of how such a guise would operate. Perhaps though if such a thing were possible it would give me a ‘sense’ that you were alien-like but angelic-like in motivation – not intuitive  here, just an awareness out of kilter. It is like having a sense of hundreds of perspectives (evirons) with the ability to float through them, or rather drift through any one of them at most any time. Now, can this be placed in Merlyn’s corner? Or, Milton’s corner for that matter? Personalities (characters) are as loose fitting clothes, except for you Amorella.

You are having a problem in expressing your own reality here, boy. Though, pray tell, I see this as no different from any other Homo sapiens. Post. - Amorella

1321 hours. I finally have a list. I had to add two generations to the Scottish side. Here it is:

**********

You are relieved. This we can work from. Some changes to the segments may be called for. Time for lunch. Later, my man. Post. - Amorella

Later afternoon. You are at Kroger’s. Carol has to pick up food for Mary Lou’s Thanksgiving dinner and drop it off tomorrow after you drop off Ellie the Cat and have a quiet lunch with Kim. You are thinking about constructing a continuing list of genealogy up into the fifteen hundreds. Your thought is to drop in a copy of what you already have and change the dates and names when appropriate by underlining the new names and dates as you delete the others from the format. This is reasonable enough, as you have found a format that works for you without going through genealogical software. Also, it has a similar format on the page as chess notations. Your assumption here is that if there are “Spooky alignment[s] of quasars across billions of light years” there can be spooky alignments within the genetic foundations of the Living and the Dead. Who is going to argue against it when you are making the suggestion not proof? To you, Reality may be stranger still. – Amorella

2106 hours. We watched the last of “The Blacklist” tonight and a few other shows besides. I had baked beans and hot dogs for supper; Carol had mostly snacks. She is busy ironing her clothes. I am almost ready for bed. Ellie has no idea where she is going tomorrow. Carol will put her on her lap for the entire trip. The poor cat does not travel well. This may be the last time she comes down for a visit. We like Ellie. She puts on a tough cat front but she has never struck out at the boys. Owen treats her well; Brennan needs a couple more years. Ellie mostly avoids him.

Carol is finishing up. You are both heading to bed early. Post. - Amorella
