Notes - angel's well / no poem found

Late mid-morning. You and Carol have been cleaning the upstairs and once down you will ‘steam mop’ the kitchen floor first. – Amorella

1040 hours. It is ‘taxing’ but we are excited to see Craig and Alta tomorrow.

Evening. You had another very late lunch, this time at Smashburgers. Most of the day has been spent cleaning and reorganizing. You still have to go to Kroger’s tonight. You have had your mind on a poem you wrote about an angel’s well back in the mid-eighties. See if you can find it, it may be in a spiral notebook from those days. – Amorella

1757 hours. I wrote my notes in pencil in those days but I still have them. I don’t know why the poem seems important but now it does (I remember that at the time it seemed to emerge from nowhere in my head). Dr. Payne. my psychologist at U.C., order them to see if I may be a multiple or dual personality. He later summarized that I was neither – by testing or by his observation. I was afraid at the time that whatever was going on in my head might be detrimental to my students’ learning. This was when several students told me that I used three different handwriting forms when filling the chalkboards with notes. I was so surprised to see this was actually true. I could give (and still can’t) any rational reason (or any other) for it. My old scripted notebooks show these same handwriting abnormalities also. Like everything else, I learned to live with it and not to give it too much credence; it was just a quirk. Today, of course, I rarely handwrite. (1804)

         Post. – Amorella

I have not looked for the poem.

2007 hours. We are back from the grocery. I called Alta and they will be here at 11:30 after spending tonight with old friends in Columbus. We got our first iPhone amber alert on the drive to Kroger’s. It is a quite different sound and even flashed the emergency alarm on the car interior dashboard. Earlier a man stole car from a filling station and it had a small baby in the backseat. I am working on putting in a front door bottom sealer, the old one was torn and is basically worn out. Once the cleaning of the bottom of the door dries I can put on the new one. Then I’ll sweep the TV room and office floors and that will be it for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll do the living room and steps. The house is pretty much ready for company now as we have been working on this off and on most of the week. It is fun to have company. Outside of seeing Jim and Jeanne once and a while Craig and Alta are the only other regulars who drop by during the year. We are not much on socializing unless it is meeting out for dinner.

You spent time in the basement gathering the folders that you thought might have the poem but it is nowhere to be found. – Amorella

2040 hours. It was good to go over some of that old material from the early to late 1980’s. It is good to remember where I was in my head in those days. Thirty-four years later is a lot later in life. The main aspect I still carry on is writing novels. I began my first one in 1979. I still have the drafts down the basement. I don’t write much poetry anymore. I don’t remember that poem about the well and the angel. At the time I thought it was very much William Blake-like in tone. Well, that’s how I remember it. My memory is not always so good.

You’re done for the day, boy. Post and relax. Enjoy your good friends. - Amorella
