Notes - sports and the DVR / La plume

Mid-morning. You both had breakfast and were reading the Sunday paper when Carol realized she needed a few more items from the store and money from the bank. You stopped at the bank and are now at Kroger’s on Mason-Montgomery Road for bakery bread, Kleenex and other items.

0848 hours. A light gray blanket of cloud but it is warmer than yesterday. The flag is flying straight out at times, and the weather may be worse for us north of Cincinnati. These little notes don’t mean much in themselves but by writing down trivia such as this I find I am more consciously aware of the day to day. This is not a bad thing, particularly considering the alternative. I read the first part of the sports page today and the article by Paul Draughty focuses on how the ‘Republic of Cincinnati’ does not really belong with The Ohio State University and their Buckeyes, which some here call ‘Bucknuts’. This is true, as he says, ‘Cincinnati doesn’t really give a damn about the Buckeyes and their hopes to win the first national playoff for the national championship.’ I hope OSU beats Oregon, but alas, I am not the fan I once was. It might be fun to watch the game at 8:30 tomorrow night on ESPN though. My central Ohio roots are kicking in. Many good times of my youth were spent watching Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns.

Nothing wrong with good sports and good times, boy. – Amorella

0956 hours. We are home from having the car washed at Mike’s on Fields Ertel Road. The blue car was mostly white from treated roads and snow squalls on Friday. We won’t use it this week.

You had chili for lunch and watched “The Mentalist”, “Blue Bloods” and “Modern Family” for the fun of it. Later, dude. Post. - Amorella

Evening. Carol is watching the Golden Globes. You wrote, “A tribute to the French - "La plume est plus forte que l'epee,’"on your Facebook page almost without thinking. – Amorella

2021 hours. I looked up the spelling; the line looks better in French. I saw the crowd in Paris on the news tonight. My spirit is aroused by such a sight.
