You and Carol had an early donut run and you
both had a bath/shower and are packed for Aunt Ruthie and Tony’s.
Evening.
Carol is watching one of her Hallmark TV shows, you are ready for bed after
playing laser light tag with Jadah.

hours. I am worn out from the day. It was fun to see my old California cousin,
Marilyn (on the Schick-Freeman side of the family), her daughter Katje, Katje’s
husband, Wanton Davis, and their three young children (but not as young as
Brennan). Marilyn is a specialized elementary language teacher and Katje is a
third grade teacher in the LA school system, her husband Wanton is a TV and
music video producer and writer at Revolt TV in LA.
2237
hours. I am too tired to do much imagination or reason-wise. We had a good
greater family time today. Tomorrow Linda will return. Meanwhile we are
relaxing on a Saturday night.
You forgot to mention the family picture
taken today has you sitting on one of Grandma Schick’s old chairs in the front
of the group with cane in hand and everyone standing behind or beside you. What’s
the significance, boy? – Amorella
2249
hours. Marilyn’s birthday is 30 July and mine is 6 August so Aunt Ruthie made a
delicious pan-cake for the both of us to share with the group. To mark my age
and with my arthritis acting up Aunt Ruthie thought it appropriate to place me
in an updated picture of the family. In the old days Grandma Schick would be
sitting on the chair because of her arthritis (much worse than mine) and everyone
else would be standing – a private family joke on my age and the Grandma genes
I carry (I am very much like her in terms of the meds I take). She lived to be
91 with all her problems. I doubt I’ll last anywhere near that long. Still, it
was a shock finding myself sitting on that old kitchen chair of hers. This is
an example of one the ‘charms’ of growing older. It further molds the once young me
with the old me.
