This morning you and Carol drove over to
Schneider’s for a dozen donuts and brought most of them home in the box. You
went to Wind Chimes for an excellent Chinese lunch with Uncle John, Carol, Kim,
Paul, Linda and Gayle – first time without Mary Lou except in name. Afterwards,
you followed Paul and Kim to see the homes where he grew up in Dublin, both homes
within a mile or so of Wind Chimes Chinese Restaurant on 5742 Frantz Road in
Dublin. You and Carol both napped in the afternoon. Linda left with her old Otterbein
College friend Patti for the weekend and is driving the Honda back to Mason on
Sunday and staying with you and Carol until Thursday when you are bringing her
up to work at the “tag sale” at Mary Lou’s on Friday. She is then flying back
to Tampa on Saturday from Columbus. Friday you are heading back to Mason, and
you are having dinner out with your old friends Jim and Jeanne Shumaker on
Saturday night. They are passing through to home near Atlanta after two weeks
in Upper Michigan. Carol will have physical therapy at the Mason Community
Center on Monday and Thursday of this next week and the girls are getting their
hair done on Wednesday. That’s how your next week in scheduled so far. –

hours. I am hoping to have lunch with Gary P. sometime this next week too. I
called him to check in on the cats today because Carol had expected me to put
out more food for the cats, which I forgot to do. I called him using the excuse
I should have put out more water (which I also forgot). Anyway, I think the
cats would have been fine but this way Carol can feel better. Gary thinks it is
funny. He has never forgotten how to get into our house with the combination
lock. I think that’s funny. He is a good friend. I am blessed with good
friends. I really am. Kim put the picture of the boys and me (with my black ‘Papa’
T shirt) on Facebook for my birthday. I had not put my birthday on Facebook
public before so it was a surprise. I had a lot of “Likes” and more than a few
wonderful comments. I feel very lucky and am humbled by Kim’s actions and the
subsequent thoughts of my Facebook friends.
