Notes - 'hole in the bucket' for ch.11 /

Mid-morning. You and Carol just returned from your walk this time at Rose Hill Cemetery because Carol is uncomfortable walking in the more crowded fairway of a Saturday morning. You got your mile though it was ‘stiffer in the hips’ because of the cool forty-degree temperature, that and having only one stop to sit and it was on a cold granite memorial bench. Carol is talking to Gayle on the phone. Kim and Paul are near Waverly, Georgia (on their way to Orlando) according to your iPhone ‘Find Friends’ app. – Amorella

1021 hours. ‘Click and Clack’, the Tappet Brothers, were not in the paper today, very irritating. Older brother, Tom Magiliozzi died about a year ago, but Ray has carried on with the column. The PBS ‘Car Talk’ was a wonderful show featured by the two well-educated Boston college professors/auto mechanics.

Mid-afternoon. You had a late lunch/early dinner at Longhorn’s and are at Kroger’s on Tylersville for Vitamin D tablets for you and large dark chocolate Hershey bars for Carol. Then you are going to the park so you can write and she can read her book. An hour or so ago Kim, Paul and the boys were passed St. Augustine. Orlando can’t be too far away. – Amorella

1553 hours. They ought to really be surprised. They have never been to an amusement park as far as we know, certainly nothing like Ohio’s own Cedar Point or King’s Island let alone Disney World. We took Kim and her cousin Sharon to Disney World seven or eight times as they were growing up (as we were all down at Mom and Dad’s during part of the summer). DW was about an hour and a half from their house so we never had to stay over. I’m sure that has all changed. In the early eighties you could venture the park in a day, riding most of the kids’ rides. We would stay from opening until after the fireworks at nine and were home by eleven. We went once almost every summer, once in a while during Spring Break. I need to get out chapter eleven and see where we are.

You are at Pine Hill Lakes Park, far north lot with the windows cracked just a bit as it is 51 degrees. Carol is working on the checkbook; you are working on the chapter eleven preliminaries. - Amorella

1645 hours. I need a chapter theme word.

How about ‘hole in the bucket’? – Amorella

1649 hours. If we can make it work.

Why not? We can change it if need be, but “There’s a hole in the bucket, Dear Lisa, Dear Lisa”. - Amorella

Carol is on page 25 of Baldacci’s The Whole Truth. – Carol just left for a short walk and you saw that Kim arrived at their hotel. You called to say hello. She said they had just arrived and are meeting Bill and Linda for supper. They have everything from Mary Lou’s for Linda except for the vases, which you are bringing down to Linda’s in two weeks. Relax, orndorff. – Amorella

1718 hours. I couldn’t wait to call. – She called back just as Carol returned to the car so that worked out well. The boys were fine on the two-day trip. The plane is expense with four seat tickets. Glad Kim bought her Honda Odyssey, perfect for the four. Carol is at Kroger’s on Kings Mill buying milk. We don’t want to go out again because the community gathering is on our street tonight. We declined their invitation this time.

You watched NBC News, “The Blacklist”, “Castle” and “Blue Bloods” tonight. Carol went upstairs to read. You are checking email shortly. - Amorella

2214 hours. It’s Saturday night. I’m looking at the four files to work on for this chapter. It would probably be easier to begin with Pouch – 11 since we just completed Pouch – 10 for continuities’ sake.

That sounds reasonable. You might find a paragraph or so you can use in the 7790 words for the segment. – Amorella

2221 hours. If I can find a paragraph or so I will still need at least 700 more words. It is fun though because I cannot remember anything about the segment from the Merlyn’s Mind trilogy. Maybe there is something in the old piece I can adapt to the new much leaner Pouch.

         Post, orndorff. - Amorella
