Notes - thoughts and some writing on Grandma 11

Late morning. You are sitting at the post office waiting for Carol to buy Christmas stamps for cards. Jill is cleaning the house today and you have more errands to run. Last night Carol turned out the light from reading and you were with Jadah in the chair. Not sleepy you took advantage and watched the second episode of “High Castle” and this morning, early, while Carol was still asleep you watched the third episode on your iPad-mini with earphones. – Amorella

1133 hours. I like the show.

You are now at Target at VOA.

1143 hours. “High Castle” has an existential realism built in. The setting is 1962 but the interior sets remind me of the forties for the most part; the U.S. appears as the conquered nation it would have been. The U.S. is too large and diverse. Any conqueror then or now would have a terrible time trying to control basically a nation of dogs and cats. I love such dark humor. I imagine Dick did too. After a while people get tired and just want a ‘common peace’ so they can rest and otherwise survive with some personal humanity intact. It is difficult to imagine what the loyal Nazis and Japanese of that era would think coming back to see the world as it is today.

Now a stop at Hallmark also at VOA then you’ve decided to go to Longhorn’s for lunch. Carol has a hair appointment mid-afternoon. – Amorella

1203 hours. We come into a world already predetermined as far as we are individually concerned. We have no choice of parents or setting. We have nothing to do but to survive so that we might eventually survive into semi-adulthood which appears to be nature’s intent fitting later capitalize on in the biblical edict – ‘Be fruitful and multiply’. We have a choice with this although the sexual urge is mostly predetermined also. We have to deal with it individually and collectively. I’m thinking ancient tribes without enough girls raiding a nearby tribe for necessity for the tribe first, at least seemingly so, though this is nature’s call long before the dignity and pride of being in a tribe. NatureanNurture – as Amorella might say, ‘It is a rule’. I cannot imagine a way to evolve out of this. If aliens with higher consciousness are out there it would appear that we have this in common. Every time a person assimilates/integrates with local, national and/or foreign people/culture a change takes place. (1218)

You both had renegade steak with different sides, Carol had a sweet potato with the fixings and you had a baked potato loaded. You split a salad with honey mustard and a warmed carrot cake for an excellent lunch. Jen was your server and she gave you a noted and signed Christmas card as she always does. – Amorella

1340 hours. We are at the far north lot at Pine Hill Lakes Park facing west at the now barren trees and yellowed leaves on the honeysuckle bushes. No critters so far. Carol is playing her new fun-for-her sudoku game on her iPhone Six as she forgot to pick up her book before we left the house. Time to work on Grandma 11.
