Shortly beyond noon, local time. You took
seven new pills along with your normal batch at an early breakfast. By
nine-thirty you were feeling better so you did your forty minutes of exercises
but lightened the pace somewhat – and you did all the exercise combinations but
one: vertical kick from the horizontal. In a bit you are off to Smashburgers
for lunch. Carol is working through the mail. Earlier, you called an osteopathic
doctor as asked by the hospital, and you have an appointment at ten on Monday
with the same doctor who did Carol’s knee surgery last summer, Dr. T. Sunday
you are taking Kim, Paul and the boys out for a birthday dinner for both Kim
and Paul but then will be driving home later in the afternoon (the original
plan was to stay over Sunday night). – Amorella
1230
hours. Wow. The above sure took a long time to write. Weird.
You probably shouldn’t drive today, boy. –
Amorella
1232
hours. I think you are right. This reminds me that when Carol ordered her Egg
McMuffin for lunch yesterday, she took it to the car to eat and found it didn’t
have an egg. In all our years going to McD’s this has never happened before.
She took it back with a smile and the lady laughed upon opening the wrapper.
So, someone else was having a forgetful moment.
Your moment above was not forgetful. –
Amorella
1235
hours. You are correct. Yes, Carol drives today. (I need to check what is in those pills.)
Yes, Ma'am.
Mid-afternoon.
Lunch at Smashburgers then home to change shoes and pick up your computer. Now
centrally located at Rose Hill Cemetery, this time facing north. Carol is
walking; woke up with an aching arthritic lower back – she is trying to walk
some of it out. – Amorella
1459
hours. Alas, We will both end up having similar arthritic days if we live long
enough. Yesterday when Carol was driving us to the hospital I was thinking –
here I am concerned with pain and apprehensive they’ll find a small crack in my
hipbone and there will go our Colorado trip out the door. No focus on writing,
no focus on Amorella – almost a pre-mental set up for physical shock to set in.
Then, that would be it. The world would take second place to physical life or
not. I was just previewing some final day and final time – taken to the
hospital and that is that. Life over. The body is set up for such times by
inducing shock; you consciously don’t know what’s going until you wake up or
you don’t. This pretty simple and neat if you ask me. The pain doesn’t come
back unless you do; otherwise, no pain. Carol returns to the car. (1509)
Indeed, that was your thought on the way to
the hospital. You recently read about what happens to animals in the wild when
eaten by a predator(s) – they go into shock and are not conscious of the actual
experience before too much loss of blood and death. Carol is on page 495 of The
Target by David Balducci. – Amorella
1514
hours. I think of films observing lions eating their meals. One of the places
they go for is the jugular – actually this shows a bit of empathy ‘kill me and
make it quick’ – at least this is how I see it. Instinct probably for more
practical reasons, but still – nature appears to work it out. Our nature is
such though that some people prefer to torture animals and humans to death. I
prefer to hope this is not instinct but rather an overriding sense of unjustified
anger/revenge. We are classified as primates and under scholarly rules this is
justifiable; however, the classical ‘Homo sapiens’ appears to apply not to the
entire species.

Homo sapiens (from Wikipedia)
Homo sapiens (Latin: "wise man") is the binomial
nomenclature (also known as the scientific name) for the human species. Homo is the human genus, which also
includes Neanderthals and many other extinct species of hominid; H. sapiens
is the only surviving species of the genus Homo. Modern humans are the
subspecies Homo sapiens sapiens,
which differentiates them from what has been argued to be their direct
ancestor, Homo sapiens idaltu.. The
ingenuity and adaptability of Homo sapiens has led to its becoming,
arguably, the most influential species on the planet; it is for this reason
that it is currently deemed of least concern on the IUCN.
Name and taxonomy
The binomial name Homo sapiens was coined by Carl
Linnaeus (1758).
The Latin noun homō (genitive hominis) means
"man, human being".
Subspecies of H. sapiens include Homo sapiens idaltu
and the only extant subspecies, Homo sapiens sapiens. Some sources show Neanderthals
(Homo neanderthalensis) as a subspecies (Homo sapiens
neanderthalensis). Similarly, the discovered specimens of the Homo rhodesiensis species have been
classified by some as a subspecies (Homo sapiens rhodesiensis), but
these last two subspecies classifications are not widely accepted by
scientists.
Origin
Traditionally, there are two competing views in
paleoanthropology about the origin of H. sapiens: the recent African
origin and the multiregional origin.
Since 2010, genetic research has led to the emergence of an
intermediate position, characterised by mostly recent African origin
plus limited admixture with
archaic humans.
The recent African origin of modern humans is the mainstream
model that describes the origin and early dispersal of anatomically modern
humans. The theory is called the (Recent) Out-of-Africa model in the
popular press, and academically the recent single-origin hypothesis (RSOH),
Replacement Hypothesis, and Recent African Origin (RAO)
model.
The hypothesis that humans have a single origin (monogenesis)
was published in Charles Darwin’s Descent
of Man (1871). The concept was speculative until the 1980s, when it was
corroborated by a study of present-day mitochondrial DNA, combined with
evidence based on physical anthropology of archaic specimens. According to
genetic and fossil evidence, archaic “Homo sapiens” evolved to anatomically
modern humans solely in Africa, between 200,000 and 100,000 years ago, with
members of one branch leaving Africa by 60,000 years ago and over time
replacing earlier human populations such as Neanderthals and Homo erectus.
The recent single origin of modern humans in East Africa is the
near-consensus position held within the scientific community. However, recent
sequencing of the full Neanderthal Genome suggests Neanderthals and some modern
humans share some ancient genetic lineages. The authors of the study suggest that their findings are
consistent with Neanderthal admixture of up to 4% in some populations. But the
study also suggests that there may be other reasons why humans and Neanderthals
share ancient genetic lineages.
In August 2012, a study by scientists at the University of
Cambridge has questioned this conclusion, hypothesising instead that the DNA
overlap is a remnant of a common ancestor of both Neanderthals and modern
humans. The
multiregional origin model provides an explanation for the pattern of human
evolution proposed by Milford H. Wolpoff in 1988. Multiregional origin holds
that the evolution of humanity from the beginning of Pleistocene 2.5 million
years BP to the present day has been within a single, continuous human species,
evolving worldwide to modern Homo sapiens sapiens.

hours. I find the above interesting. Surely we owe it to all our cousins, those
wise and not so wise, to continue this classification. Our moral fiber is our
own and we alone (as mature adults) are responsible for it; anger and revenge
not withstanding.
An
aside here, I have never understood why people go out and kill people before
they kill themselves. I would think if I were in such a situation, justified or
not, I would kill myself; no need, no justification for killing others along
the way. – rho (1546)

What would have happened had you killed

hours. This is a very good question. I do not I have the moral fiber to respond
to this in a fully reasonable manner other to say I would be guilty of
manslaughter under the influence, or something to that effect. Obviously, I am
not a lawyer either. Now, within my cultural norms I would say I was guilty of
involuntary murder and that I should be punished. I would not commit suicide
because it would be my responsibility and duty to survive and live out my punishment.

Now that
you are home you posted what you have and were looking at your blog and someone
has recently read this older blog from 29 March 2014 and as you reread it out
of curiosity you notice Doug’s comments. He has not responded to your recent
request these last couple of weeks, which is his will as always. However, this
is a reminder of his thinking that you will use presently. The relevant

29 MARCH 2014
Notes - my Amstrad / The
DimpleSkinBody Theory / Doug / final Chapter Ten
0955 hours. Last night before sleeping and this upon
waking this morning I was thinking on the sun as a yellow or white or blue
appearing tunnel gathering the light from the multi-universes (flowers) on the
tree-that-grows-universes. And, I was thinking of the mass that was at sky’s
end as an entanglement as in quantum mechanics, a creeping slug-like affair, if
you will, that separates the ‘top’ of this ‘-now’ from the ‘bottom-to-the-Before’
where the root sprang from the naturally created ‘seed’.
This keeps
intact what is suggested in the earlier Merlyn books and whether copyrightable
or not this is first seen in print here in the books or the blog. I bring this
up because you are concerned that someone could take this work as you are
putting it together and create their own story from it. – Amorella
1007 hours. It did come to mind. I would think he or she
would have to use it in another context though. I don’t know. You can’t
copyright concepts.
We need to
create a name for this ‘Place of Process’ that expands the ‘environs’ in which
higher conscious humanoids themselves flower or not. How about “The
Dimple-Skin-Body”? – Amorella
1012 hours.
Why such a name?
The Dimple
is the pressing of Before into the Skin wherein grows the tree of universes,
that separates via the slug of ‘entanglement’ from the Body on the other side
of the tunnel. – Amorella
Whoa. You
are making this an odd string of continual growth process analogy of a scope I
have yet to master. (1018)
String
theory adapted fictionalized, eh, boy? – Amorella
Wow. I’ll have to show this to Doug.
One would
hope. Post, and send him a copy. – Amorella
While you were
doing your forty minutes of exercises Doug responded with two notes you edited
slightly here. This is in response to your copy of today’s post. - Amorella

Dick,
(1100) Thanks for the email. I had a small Mac at work until the
president of the company announced no more Macs just IBM’s. We had an early
form of email, which we all used in the office. Was heady stuff at the time.
Strings, i.e. threads can be woven into fabric. Maybe the fabric
here is the fabric of space time. Please pursue your ideas of dimple skin and
string theory and quantum mechanics. I just watched a program this morning that
says that the electron is surrounded by a quantum vacuum cloud and without this
cloud the universe would explode because the cloud reduces the effective force
between charged particles.

Good morning!
Amorella came up with an idea as I need something holistic to
deal with in terms of a greater environment for multiple universes, etc. I am
not sure what I think because it is too new in my head. However, I would hope
it evolves somewhat about physics or even general science in its lay out. What
I like about this almost immediately is that it brings about a greater
perspective of 'distance' if you will between G---D and us. Yet, from an
Angel's perspective, let's say, there is still no distance at all. I find the
idea refreshingly humbling so I think something might be worked from it to
construct within the books. I believe the tree with lights idea is already used
- perhaps in the original book four which I gave up, maybe even alluded to
in second or third published Merlyn books. I appreciate your continuing input
- positive or negative. ;-)

Doug’s response:
(1132) Remember if you are traveling at the speed of light
Einstein says the distance in front of you is zero. So maybe Angels being
spirits travel at the speed of light so there is no distance between them and
G--D. I do think our current universe is already a multiverse given the fact
that recently a set of galaxy structures were discovered that covers 1/4 of the
universe as we know it. This structure would seem to me to be the start of
another universe inside our universe. Have fun with your writing!

1205 hours. I
am getting pumped Amorella. It is like I am getting a handle on how things are
in these books and with this I am developing a broader sense of understanding.
In a sense it is like all the universes are inside a dimple in someone’s cheek.
At least initially it is so in my mind. I find this very humorous and somewhat
darkly too particularly if this head concept is then fractallized. Very funny
indeed. 'Very heady' as Doug might say. What a joy to be a part of conjuring up
something like this, and to have my old high school chemistry lab partner . . .
helping to stabilize the reason in it. Ho, ho, ho. Thank you, Doug, my old
friend. And, of course, thank you, Amorella. Oh, the joys of writing
fiction!
